I have a TZ, that has a couple of issues. When I turn on the game that clock keeps spinning on and on. Any idea what to look at? what board, or anything other things to check for?

I just replaced the board because of acid damage. I can't get into the menu screen as the screen doesn't turn on. It did for a minute.. (until I put a new board in it. )lol I kept the same chips and just moved them into the new board exactly how they were in my machine. Thanks

Optos in the clock.

Even though you can't run the Clock Test until the screen is working, the Clock Test documentation in the manual is a good summary of what components are involved in running the clock motor and reading the optos.

If the clock spins AS SOON AS you turn the game on - and continues spinning when you go into Test Mode (no screen needed, just press the 'Enter' button), then it's a driver issue - either on your Power Driver (in backbox) board, or the motor control board (mounted up under the playfield).
If the clock dosen't start spinning until a handful of seconds after turning the game on, and stops when you go into Test mode, then it's the optos on your clock board.

So the game turned out. In test mode it tells me the clock is broken. And yes it spins and spins as soon as you turn on the game. Also I disabled the clock and it still spins. I also got this not in the country code...

Ok, see my previous message - your have a bad driver, or a bad motor board. Considering the other pCB issues you're having, I would put money down that you have a bad driver/pre-drive on your PDB.

For the country location, see LTG above.

Can you test with a Adams family driver board into a twilight zone? I’m pretty sure you can but just wanted to double check. Thx

I’m pretty sure it’s the same exact board.

Yup, you can.

It's not *EXACTLY* the same - the TZ one was missing the Relay for the Flipper power - so while the TZ one will WORK in the TAF, the flippers will not have any power. Everything will work though.
The TAF board in a TZ will work fine - you will hear a soft 'click' whenever the flippers are enabled/disabled - that's teh relay clicking on and off.

So I was able to at least rule out the driver board. It must be the clock motor board. I'm guessing. Well at least that saves me $350 or repairing it for $150.
