I'm trying to restore my Twilight Zone and am getting strange voltage readings from the test points. I noted that the ColorDMD indicated it had no power. When measuring the voltage at J116 where the ColorDMD gets its power I noticed a very high reading on the 5V circuit and a high reading on the unregulated 12V. I think the unregulated 12V might be within tolerance but fear the 8 volts on the 5 volt circuit can serioussly damage components.

The driver board I have is a Rottendog and I know there are differences in some of the circuitry from the OEM board but it is my understanding that the test points should be consistent across the Rottendog and OEM drive boards.

I have the following voltages using the test points on the rottendog board:

test point/ expected / actual

TP1 12VP 16.8 volts

TP2 5V 8.02

TP3 12VD 12.13

TP6 50V 77.2

TP7 20V 22.8

TP8 18V 18.87

I am most concerned about the 5V and believe it might have fried my Color DMD and possibly my CPU board.

I want to confirm that the 8.02 volts at the 5V TP really is an issue and would like to understand if that much additional voltage is beyond the tolerance for the ColorDMD board. What should I test next to isolate the component?
