Quoted from jalpert:
Come on. I don’t care how long it’s been on the market, this is a good price.
Obviously price is important, but there are other factors. Bad luck could be one, now financial instability for a lot of people.
It’s great when the seller has that perfect buyer and everyone is happy. Sometimes, there is just nobody near the game looking. Yes, it could be price, but it is not in this case.
Also. The premium is vastly superior. I suggest you play an example that is properly dialed in. Really, it’s not that hard to do, but some people just don’t want to take the time.
I’ve owned so many games that are so much harder to dial in. Ironically, Dialed In is one of them, that damn scoop shot off the side flipper just doesn’t stick.
Sorry Jason for continuing the convo in your FS thread, even though it is partly about market in general and games that are sitting. Hopefully any bump is a good bump and helps keep this in eyes so someone takes it.
Sure, it is a good price... just not a price anyone is buying at for the past 40+ days (i.e. you found the top of the market where nobody is currently buying). I personally think this is the hard reality that many will see on the premium (meaning high dollar and common modern games) secondary. That portion of the market has been saturated with games and dropping for the past year. Now toss on financial instability and health concerns, and the high end goes down more. If people want to sell games, then prices come down till they do (or people just decide to keep). After 40 days if a game is not sold, then a price reduction could make it interesting for someone.
Anecdotally, the Covid stuff actually has people at home and more interested in buying games it seems. However, they are mostly looking for sub 5k is what I have found. Since lockdown I have had 3x the number of people reach out and wanting their first pin, but they want to spend 3k on avg.
As for TWD premium, I have played 2 very well tuned in examples. I personally just cant get over the poor ramp design (even when tuned in; it lacks the smoothness of the pro and then that fun repeatable shot becomes a clunk to a cheap toy underneath) and the austin powers crossbow mech.
If someone could hack in a pro set of ramps and keep everything else then we could have the best of both worlds. Until then, Pro is the better of the 2 games.
GLWS and if you drop the price then I suggest just hitting your bottom dollar to peak interest (the $100 off at a time think rarely works as a sale tactic IME).
