I have played this it's really cool. The music feels like it's supposed to be there but also completely different if you are used to the music for cues as to what mode you started etc.

Nice mix and all instrumental!

#3 7 years ago

this is premium LE, I will make a Pro version too

#4 7 years ago

This is awesome and is heavily influencing my thoughts about buying a Stern and what to buy. Well done!

#5 7 years ago

Sweet!

Been loving the Tool version of this mod, can't wait to try this next.

#6 7 years ago

Sounds great! I played his Tron which has a sound package also. KG's games excite all the senses!

#7 7 years ago

It kind of sounds like rednecks meet techno......very cool

#8 7 years ago

Nice, That must have been a treat ,Much more fun than my stock sounding ones

#9 7 years ago

Mods like this make me want to own this game....

#10 7 years ago

making pro version now, will respond to PM'S shortly for pro and prem/le

#11 7 years ago

thx guys, put a lot of work into this and will never be able to play it again without this mix. Cleland's sound bytes enabled me to buy this game in the first place.

I also put proper Iron Man Black Sabbath game over music in IM, replaced Wolverine panting in XM, replaced two songs in Met, fixed Tron with proper soundtrack music (can't take credit), and have dabbled in movie sound bytes for Avengers.

#12 7 years ago

PM sent

#13 7 years ago

all PM's answered! let me know how you like it guys!

based on MET's recent update, I'm nearly certain TWD will get at least one more update. When it does, I'll redo this

#14 7 years ago

What two songs did you replace on Met?

What did you replace XM panting sound with? I'm interested in that for sure.

Like to get a TWD pro some day and this package is awesome.

Unforgiven into King Nothing
Creeping Death into Eye Of The Beholder

wolverine panting into Queens Of The Stone Age - Misfit Love

I will PM you later today

This song swap for TWD is the absolute best mod (IMO), I'm a huge fan of NIN it's simply great what you have done and one of the reasons why I like modern Stern pins.

Don't have TWD yet but this will make it more likely if I can find one near me.

Nice Job I love it, and l really like your song choices and edits, fits perfectly with the theme. Will be sending you a PM.

#18 7 years ago

Been playing with this mix installed and really feels perfect. Great job KG!

#19 7 years ago

Very well done!

#20 7 years ago

thx guys- just realized I didn't have Cleland sounds as my starting point on the pro. give me a day or so to fix and I'll respond to your PM's again.

All PM's responded to with new pro link. Gave you new pro link even if your original request was for Prem/LE. Just in case.

any noobies that don't know the drill on changing your rom, here's the super quick, super easy bullet list:
1) get usb stick
2) delete all files from stick
3) right click, 'format' usb stick
4) download .bin file from my link onto usb stick
5) with game off, remove translite/glass
6) insert usb stick into far right driver board slot
7) locate little white switches 1 thru 8 on bottom left corner of that same board
8 ) flip switch #8 to the opposite position of how it is when you find it
9) turn game on
10) open coin door
11) use select button to follow dmd prompts
12) wait 15-60 minutes (can't remember how long, each game seems different) for both an erase of your current and a upload of the new
13) screen prompt will have you remove stick, switch 8 back to original position and then restart
14) after restart, check any custom settings in the menus and put them back in if that's your preference
15) play

I just installed this version on my premium and I have to say that this is really great work. The game has much more of an edge to it.

I have had just about every version of sound mixes on my game (Cleland, Millhouse, KPG's earlier version, one from SKB and another from Edelman I think it was.) They are all great and much appreciated, but this one has the most edge to it.

What I have found with all of these mixes is that none are very good at telling you what to shoot for like the stock version so you can get kind of lost and instead have to follow what's going on with the playfield lights. Unfortunately, the redneck voice on the stock version is just so bad that these versions are all still way better than stock. I need more time on this version, though.

One thing i liked on an earlier version, can't remember who's it was, but it had Negan's whistle sound when the ball hit the outlane switches, I really liked that and thought it was a nice touch. If it can be added to this version, would be yet another improvement.

Thanks for the hard work on this, it's great that these kinds of things can be done and are available to the community!

#23 7 years ago

That's KPG's that has the whistle. The final version even improved the whistle

I'd sit tight for a couple days as Kevin is finalizing a new version using Cleland updated sound package! But definitely check it out once it's out!

#27 7 years ago

Funny thing is RandomKG's name is Kevin and my name is Kevin, it was meant to be

#28 7 years ago

Id like to give this one a try when its ready. I LOVE Cleland version but some new music might be refreshing. Thanks

#29 7 years ago

Indeed. By the end of this weekend all requesters past and present will have links in their inboxes to the original Kevin's mix and the brand new one with updated Cleland sound bytes that include Negan.

Keep meaning to get to it but keep getting carried away on beautifying my Batman.

I hadn't thought to awaken this thread so thanks for bumping it.

I put a lot of time on this yesterday, and I've gotta tip my cap, because it's pretty awesome. "Last" for Arena and "I Might Be Wrong" for Barn are my two favorites right out of the gate. They fit the vibe perfectly. I'll be keeping this version in my game for the foreseeable future.

If I could make one suggestion, it would be a different tune for the game over music. NIN's "Burning Bright (Field on Fire)" from the new Not The Actual Events EP would be pretty badass. So would the instrumental version of "10 Miles High" (from The Fragile: Deviations 1 album), "The Four of Us are Dying" from The Slip, "HYPERPOWER!" from Year Zero, or "The Greater Good" from Year Zero. I dig "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi," but I feel like something with a bit more doom/melancholy would close it out on a more apocalyptic tone.

That minor nitpick aside, bravo, man. I think I'll head downstairs right now and play this again...

#37 7 years ago

Thanks Dave! I considered "Hyperpower" for several spots and it didn't quite make my cut. Not familiar with 10 miles nor Four of us. I'll check them out. Regarding Greater Good, I considered that a bit here and there. I wanted some Year Zero in general but none of it made the cut, can take another look.

It's funny you keyed in on Weird Fishes for the game over outro because that's literally the first change I locked in mentally haha!

Thanks for all the PM's, I think I'm caught up with replies as of 2:45 US EST.

Music while waiting for the ball to plunge doesn't loop well.
20 seconds long and cuts out sounding cut at the end of the loop.

it's an incredible b*tch, worked on it for 2.5 hours alone back in July and eventually settled knowing that people would generally hit Start, then plunge...

but now you've inspired to perfect it again. I will probably lose the battle again.

#41 7 years ago

Maby just leave the original music before plunging the ball there?
It's been a while since I've heard it but it does sound like the opening of the show as I remember.
Anyways just played a couple games and the rest of the music sounds pretty good.

I lost it in translation because Cleland was my starting point and didn't think of that. Yeah I can certainly get the 100% stock original back in there. Because yes you are right it is the theme music from the show which I thought was a perfect fit, it's just that I tried to recreate it, imperfectly.

if a handful of people are interested, i'll knock it out, otherwise...i should spend more time on my actual work that pays for these games lol

Yep. was just my 2cents from uploading it.
Cheers

#44 7 years ago

I'd love to have the theme music back before the plunge too. Just tried this for the first time and love it!

#45 7 years ago

Yeah the theme music is pretty iconic so it would be nice to hear just you're starting out... good choice for the plunge.

Would top it off nicely.

#46 7 years ago

Agreed. Theme music before the plunge would be a perfect change....

#47 7 years ago

To be clear- it IS the theme music before the plunge- just not perfectly looped.

#48 7 years ago
Quoted from ATLpb:

I thought I was either going going crazy, or missing something here. Yeah, it's the theme music.

I noticed the loop thing tonight, but only because I ran to the bathroom between ball 2 and 3. Haha. A fix would be cool, but I won't lose a wink of sleep either way.

I also had all the music cut out ("The National Anthem") on me at one point and only had switch sounds and callouts for about 10 seconds, but that was probably due to the fact that I couldn't get a single damn mode started after several minutes of flailing about. Honestly, that's worthy punishment if you ask me. Want the regular gameplay music to not end? Play better. Haha.

I'm loving this version, man. This, combined with the new Cleland quotes, makes it feel like a new game.

Email received, code loaded, and a donation sent. No issues.

Sorry Kevin , sometime's I may get a little harsh around here but its only in keyboard conversation and never to be taken personal....... Outstanding job, and I cant wait to really dig into the game.

Thank You Again , Allen

I'd love to see a video of this mix. Any chance one of you could post it?
