So I spent the day yesterday playing TWDLE and AMH at Pinball Wizard in Pelham, NH. This was the first time I got to play it and I wasn't sure what to expect due to the mixed reviews I had read. I can't get over how awesome TWD is. What an intense machine; damn this game is sweet! Absolutely love it!!! I just couldn't stop playing it - for me it really has that 'let me play just 1 more game' feeling to it. I love the layout and the background music. And the callouts didn't bother me - maybe because I'm much more into the comic and don't have an association with the characters from the show.

How addictive is it? When we left Pinball Wizard my 11 y.o. son wouldn't stop talking about it. "Dad, you gotta get one. Dad if you get another machine, you'll get one right?". This went on the whole ride home, and this kid really isn't into pinball. I admit I was irritated at first when Stern announced just the pro and LE version, as I couldn't justify spending that amount for the LE but knew I would really want the playfield extras.

So what did I do this afternoon? Yup, ordered the Premium and a shaker to go with it. Not sure if it will happen due to the holiday, but my distrib. said they hope to have it at my local terminal by Friday as its drop-shipping from Stern tomorrow. Can't wait, and my kid's going to be psyched!

Yeah, i figure it will be almost like a two day holiday this year if it actually arrives on Friday. it's killing me not telling him though...

Mine arrived early last week. Includes 4 small foam lads, a bigger bg ramp plastics for air balls, a piece of Mylar and instructions. I already fixed my ramp issues so not sure I'm going to need this. A little disappointing that the kit didn't include a smaller spacer for the right side of the ramp, but I was able to create my own with what I had on hand anyway. Here's a pic of the kit they sent:
