Quoted from erak:

On my Star Trek I swapped out the flipper buttons for clear ones and the button itself was causing the flipper to stick up.Seemed ok at first but the leaf switch behind the button was so close that sometimes it caused it to stick. Because of an actual bad plastic button. Next time it sticks, twist/turn the center of the button and if it drops that is the problem. And the button didnt seem smooth as you described. Almost like a defect in the spring inside the button is causing it to stick.

I wonder if this is a common issue with the clear buttons. The left flipper button on my TWD occasionally sticks. It feels like the spring is getting jammed somehow.

Quoted from erak:

Did you put the screw and washer back in that holds the locknut. It seems like it kinda warps the buttons and causes the spring to stick. Try doing up the locknut as tight as you can by hand and dont put the origional screw and washer back. It might help.

I did not put the screw and washer back. I just tightened the two plastic locknuts by hand. This is the same way I did it on WPT, and that game has been fine.
