Look what slid into my possession today. 20210314_083609 (resized).jpgI've been wanting one of these for years. 20210314_084702 (resized).jpg

I thought I'd make the prison look more the part. 1/35 scale razor wire.

Quoted from pinballjah:

Thanks for feedback. I wasn't aware of the difference in better lighting. This is one of the main reasons I went with the Metallica Premium versus the Pro. Thanks to everyone that replied.

When I bought my Premium, I was really worried about the bicycle girl ramp being a problem. I have played quite a bit on a pro and the ramps are the best part of it, smooth and fast. But I am glad I ended up with the premium since the ramps on mine work well. In fact, I love shooting for bicycle girl now.

Quoted from sliprose:

This is the most frustrating game to play. I'll have a number of horrible games and threaten to trade it out, but then I'll have an incredibly intense heart pumping session that makes me say that there is no way I would ever get rid of it.
I imagine this is one of those games that people trade out, regret it, and then bring another one back. I have a LE, I could see me going down to a Pro, but I don't think I could bear not having a TWD machine.

Every time I have a pinball party everyone stays clear of my TWD. Everyone hates it. I get asked why I keep it in the lineup and I tell them the exact thing. It's that one white knuckle, kick ass game that keeps it there. But I admit, sometimes I just want to throw it out on the lawn.

Quoted from GRB1959:

Hmm, that is a good idea. My walker jeans belt seems to be holding up well, but if I have to replace it I will try this idea out.
Gord

The gentleman I bought my TWD from put a flipper rubber around it. It seems to work great.

Quoted from roar:

That is going to make it play different for sure... one of my favourite shots on my TWD was a bank off the left side of the well walker into the Riot shot, I found it to be an incredibly safe shot and a miss on it often collects a target on the left side of prison. Shooting for those targets directly is a dangerous shot so collecting those off a ricochet is a nice bonus to a miss. It may still work with the rubber in place, but I'd have to guess it will change the angle and predictability of it... any luck making that shot with the rubber in place?

Either I am not consistent enough to make that shot or it indeed changes the way it glances off the well to the Riot. It will still do that but I have never tried to do it on purpose. I have a hard enough time just keeping the ball in play for more than 30 seconds at a time.

Quoted from DeathHimself:

Can someone please tell me the Fish Tank Head flasher order for the lamps. Is Head one on the left or right, two in the middle, three is etc...
Thanks

Mine goes from left to right, so head one is on the left.

Quoted from Multiballmaniac1:

If you have a really great game on a game you’re selling should you keep it? Just got to Horde on my LE for sale. I may have to take the ad down tomorrow. Horde is so badass.

I have a TWD in my lineup that everyone hates when playing it. I too sometimes storm out of the room yelling, SELLING IT! But after a cooler head, I can still rock a kick ass game from time to time. So it is staying for now.

One thing I did to make the exit from the pops not center drain all the time was to remove the slim tapered post that was there and replace it with a normal rubber post. That way sometimes it will roll off that and will usually kick it over to the left flipper or sling.

Quoted from roar:

Cheater! lol, I hated that drain the most when I owned the game it is absolutely maddening! My nudge game has never been strong enough to compensate for it but I just couldn't bring myself to change the post rubber... it felt like I was changing the intention of the game design and it would invalidate any of my scores or progress I made in the game... It's never clear to me who I'm trying to impress when I don't make things easier... but for whatever reason I like to leave the game as stock as possible, just feels 'right' to me at least... leaving it that way.

I understand the reasoning behind wanting to keep the game as intended by the manufacturer and I personally don't mind the difficulty. In fact TWD has made me a much better player. But most of my friends who play it, hate it. I even hate it myself sometimes. It is a tough playing pin. And sometimes it is necessary to make small changes in order to make it more enjoyable. A small change like that can be the difference between can't get rid of it fast enough to bolted to the floor. And right now it's going nowhere.

Quoted from Tjohejsan:

My barn magnet locks the ball, but do not relise it?
I havet to nudge the game very little to realise it.

It should release on its own. The magnet may be dented or not level with the playfield.

I'm not a big fan of the existing well walker either. I repainted mine in hopes to make it look better with mixed results. I might have to put some rope around it too.
