Hello all. Just joined the club.

Don't like the backboard LEDs shining straight in my face when I enter my games room.

I'll probably get some angled moulding and see if I can shield them a little without losing their lighting benefit but figured I'd put it out there first in case anyone has already figured out a creative solution. Thanks!

Thanks. I have some green ones so threw them in just now and you can definitely get the light out of your eyes but they are less diffuse so hard to keep them from glaring off other stuff. It's definitely an option though. Good idea.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

Even if you put frosted lenses in the backboard it bothers you?

It does but I'm thinking that had I put the game on a different wall it wouldn't. You need to be like 8 feet away to be looking straight at them. Less if you are shorter. On the other hand where I have it between 2 other games is where it belongs. Don't much care for the sideart to be the first thing when you walk in the room.

Quoted from FatPanda:

For those with ColorDMDs, what are you using to fill in the gap left by the stand-off kit. Are you using the gasket that a pinsider makes or weatherstripping?

I just cut some maybe 1", 90 degree trim molding I had around I didn't measure it but it was a perfect fit.

Basically I framed the DMD, I notched it so I could use the same standoff screws to hold it. I'm not perfectly satisfied with that but it was a good start. Main and only issue is it's not flexible so allows a tiny sliver of light that no casual player would notice. So the fix there would be just fold some electrical tape over the bottom edge so it has a tiny bit of flex where it meets.

Quoted from Captainhook:

You can hit the Riot shot with the left flipper off the right sling. I did it by accident the first time and I do it all the time now.

Can also bank it off the left side of the Well Walker since we're trying to make the game harder I guess.

you also want that bottom pop to be pretty lively.

The Dark Ages...
So, you need a custom part for your TWD, but you don't have CAD expertise and a 3-D printer?
No problem! Just go *backwards*, all the way to that nostalgic era when people used handtools! Imagine!
Get out the following:
1. Scrap of 16-guage stainless
2. Scissors
3. Posterboard/paper/tape/string/black sharpie
4. Hacksaw
5. Files/pliers
6. Bench vice
7. Drill press/drill bits
Throw in a lot of time and a taste for fabricating stuff and you can make...
(What do you mean you have no idea what it is? Just ask yourself, what would be darned handy on the TWD playfield?)
Installation images to follow...[quoted image]

Haven't the foggiest idea what this is going to be but anxiously watching! Nice workmanship if that's all the tools you used.

Cheater? Sure.[quoted image]

Ok sure but changing the intended gameplay isn't normally the goal of mods. But hey have fun.

Quoted from Jason_Jehosaphat:

Yes and no.
It's uncommon, but there are "mods" that address PF "flaws." The layout of Ghostbusters, for example, inspired mod makers to offer both a lane-hop-stop mod and a center-post mod. Fezmid suggested I simply use that mod on my TWD, but such a mod can't work on a TWD Premium as the Crossbow would conflict with it. The challenge of making a bracket for my TWD came from designing it to reside in the sliver of space above the ball and beneath the bottom of the Crossbow housing. Low tolerance!

For sure, it's your game and nothing wrong with setting it up your way.

I was just referencing why it was so hard to guess what you were building.

By the way, GBLE shipped with a center post mod from factory which always seemed like a bit of an admission to me - makes sense the aftermarket would offer the same to Pro owners.

Quoted from pipes:

This is false.

Ya I wondered that after I posted. I've only seen two LE's and they both had it - one installed one not. Thought it must have come with it.

Has anyone run across a sound mod based on slayer but without that (i think) Cannibal Corpse Blood Bath multiball song? Pretty much the worst song I've ever heard. Not too sure how to change it myself so thought I'd ask. thanks.
