Quoted from tonylo909:

Question for other TWDLE/Premium owners: Have you ever experienced the Start Button not registering when pressed? A couple weeks ago my LE was sitting in attract mode and when I went to play a game, I had to press the Start Button 4-5 times before a single player game registered. Today, after a decent game, when it came time to enter my initials, the Start Button would not register at all. It eventually timed out and went back into attract mode, I immediately pressed the Start Button and a new game started. Weird behavior. Anyone else come across this?

Only with the coin door open, otherwise, no.

Quoted from bigdaddy07:

The crossbow has very low tolerance. I simply added some plastic protectors on my outlanes only to discover that the crossbow could no longer sweep out because it was hitting the protector. It was then that I realized that the crossbow (stock) barely clears the stock plastic. I mean it doesn't even have a .5 mm to spare. I had to grind the protector on that side back so it would clear. Also, at times the ball doesn't fully seat, so then you cannot fire on the initial sweep out, only on the return. That happens about 1 out of 5 times.

I made the mistake of putting Scared Stiff flippers on mine, only to discover that they significantly block the crossbow function and cause the ball to get locked in the game. Unfortunate since they looked awesome in there with the milky clear (zombie flesh) bands from Titan.

The Gnassel BG mod is awesome. .

I like to play the game in the dark with the translite tube removed.

The existence of this mod is part of the reason I gave TWD another look after reading so much enthusiasm for the new code (game didn't do much for me at TPF 2015 initially). With the mod, the toy is a huge plus for the Prem/LE IMO...without the light, the premium seems worse in that regard, yet again, fixed and then some with the mod. The alternatives seem to lack the "jump scare" effect of the Gnassel version by turning the light on too soon (better than stock, but not what I would have wanted).

Quoted from NPO:

Anyone else having their crossbow button not registering the first time you hit the fire button? I have noticed mine definitely does not register the first time I push the button. I'm thinking it is just needing an adjustment of the leaf switch, but wanted to ask before I go prying all around in there.
Thanks!

I haven't had my machine long, but I think I've experienced this, though believe I've noticed once that it was firing a walker bomb I had up first. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to work or not.

May get a chance tomorrow to install this Winnebago toy I modded with mostly household items (nail polish, sandpaper, hot coffee [to tint the white paint], small wood dowel [awning], paper clips, craft foam [cooler], card stock [umbrella], and part of an incense stick [umbrella]). I have a large hole drilled through the bottom that I intend to have the pop bumper LED shine through to light up the windows (I did something similar to a camper trailer toy that will go on a different one [flipped on its side]). Yes, that's a road quickly made with colored pencils... :p (Being silly for someone else).

The tunnel shot from the crossbow has never been a success for me outside missing my shot and getting it with the flipper. I generally avoid it as it doesn't even look close when I attempt it (though I also have a Williams sleeve there to help with pop drains, but that doesn't look like it would be the main issue). I can hit arena and BG nearly every time and go for those first.

Just painted the tower I received from MezelMods. I added plastic from a CD case to make the windows (some intentionally broken). Looking forward to see how that looks with the lighting. Reposting the Winnebago I did in case anyone missed it at the bottom of the last page (in the event someone would want to copy it, etc.) Winnebago is an old Tomica toy that is readily available on eBay and can be had for under $10 shipped occasionally (probably multiple places it would look neat in the machine). Not an exact match to Dale's Winnebago model, but pretty darn close.

Quoted from PinballZach:

Medisinyl I did something like this a while back but without the supplies on the top (which are awesome!). If you search "Dale RV" on Pinside you can see what I did. I cut out the bottom of the RV, removed the LED from the Bicycle Girl plastic and stuck it up inside the RV then mounted it on the BG ramp. So now when BG is lit the RV flashes and the Ramp is the shot that completes CDC and shows the RV drive by on the DMD when complete! Take a Look!

Just checked it out. Love the guard rail touch. I also have a hole in the bottom of mine for the pop bumper LED to fit into. I felt like that area of the playfield looked barren compared to the rest and discovered the Winnebago toy soon after (and similar camper trailer). Shall see how it turns out...

Quoted from goldant:

You wouldn't be interested in selling Dale's RV mods would you? Probably worth $30/40 I would think, I know I'd get one.

I appreciate the interest, though as "DeathHimself" alluded, it would be difficult to justify the effort in addition to inconsistency with cost/availability of the stock toy in this instance (even at a higher price than suggested). Though if someone were to tackle it themselves, I wouldn't mind answering any questions about what I did if I were to receive a PM (as noted on the previous page, most of what I used is commonly found around the house).

Took a couple clips to show how the Winnebago and camper look using the pop bumper lights (one in attract mode, the other a short clip of pop action). I'm happy with the results

And a shot of all the mods in the machine at more of an eye level (I only now notice that the well walker appears to be holding the sword).

Here's a clip I made before the recent mods. "Custom audio (I mixed several things together) synced with a 14 second timer. If you fail to shoot, a creepy girl says, "if you don't come play with us, then we will kill you." Then Rick yells out, "Carl!" just as the ball shoots out on it's own and a scream is heard (gives the impression that Carl was just dragged away and is screaming)." Fair bit better when you can feel the heartbeat with the subwoofer in the room and when the skill shot connects. Sorry for the poor video quality.

Quoted from ATLpb:

Get PDI if you actually want to see the action in the multi thousand dollar toy you're playing.

Or just take out the translite bulb. I prefer it that way on MET and TWD. Hard to tell there is any glass that way.

Quoted from dzoomer:

I think the LED colordmd is the best way to go (OOS). What is everyone buying and why?

I really like the LED in my BSD and JD (likely my go to for older games), but I've had the LCD in TWD for a year now and prefer the scan option the LCD gives for at least TWD and MET that I've used LCD in.
