Joining this club on Saturday when I trade my GoT Pro for a TWD Pro. Can't wait to get some games on it!

Quoted from hanzie:congrats, its a fun game for sure, what was your impression of GOT Pro?
LOVED GoT Pro! Fun as hell and it was what made my wife and I decide to buy our first new pin. Heck, this was our first pin made after 2001. Very much my style of gameplay I enjoy - fast, flow and scoring strategies. When I get the DMD tomorrow I'll make sure to get as many plays on it before it leaves on Saturday.
But now that I have a new pin it's easy to use as trade bait for another new one. I've heard great things about TWD and I saw someone posting a trade for theirs for a GoT. So I figured what the hell, plus the show is coming back on soon and it would be cool to own during the season.
My wife wasn't happen, but whatever, she has a few "keeper" pins I can't move and can't say to keep them all. I want to try other pins and told her we could always get GoT back if we really wanted to down the line.
Quoted from Edenecho:I have got pro and twd prem, and although TWD is an amazing game its real stressing on me, so i love the variation it is to play game of thrones. GOT Pro is so much more fun than the premium, not worth the added cost for a prem imo.
I found the same thing to be true, that the Pro is just more fun then the Premium. I had a heckuva time playing the Premium for a week, but the Pro is just way more fun to me.
Quoted from bigd1979:Good thing is im pretty sure i know who your trading so u will b able to get it back in few weeks if u want before he sells or trades it lol.
lol - it's no one I've met before, but he's a Pinsider.
I wasn't even thinking of trading GoT because it's so fun, but then a Pinsider posted a trade ad for his modded TWD, wanting a GoT, and it was a perfect even steven trade for my modded GoT.
I had it running through my head for a day and watched tons of videos of TWD and I was like, I need to try it!
Quoted from hanzie:Where did you pick up the fishtank mod from?
Is that the laseriffic one that used to be available?
I was lucky that it was already installed in my game. I did purposely make it crooked because it looks too neat and proper straight.
The Cointaker LED backbox and under cab mod are also installed and man! What a great light show!
I've been revising the well walker and he is looking good and disgusting and drippy now. Will post pics when finished.
Totally different types of game play and haven't gotten enough games in yet. But I do like it a lot, Enjoy the layout and the ramps are fun to hit.
I really like being able to change up the sounds and music, so that's a huge plus in my book. Already have tried most versions available and loaded Cleland's last night. Wish the kpg version worked on the pro so I could try it out.
I had to fix the stdm balls coming from the pops because those were annoying. Much better now.
Two small rubber rings cut so they can be placed over the wire ball rail on the left side of the right ramp. Eliminates most stdm balls exiting the pops because usually they will nudge a ball enough so it hits the left flipper. I don't want to have to tell everyone else they have to nudge the game to stop those cheap assed drains. My wife can't anyway because she weighs 98lbs.
Quoted from Lermods:I installed the well walker mod from Modfather, such a big improvement. I always thought the stock figure looked bland and resembled Pizza the Hut from Spaceballs. The level of detail in this figure is really amazing, right down to the eyeballs.
That's from a Walking Dead plastic bank. I used the same figure a few years back for TFTC's Living Dead ramp.
Quoted from Eskaybee:Does this affect right loop through the pops shot much?
Not at all. I was concerned it might, but I can nail orbits in a row no problem.
I think I'm almost finished with the well walker and he is the appropriately gory, disgusting, dripping, oozing mess that I want him to be.
Just need to remove the gore under his chin and left side of the neck and he'll be finished.

Question for those with the Prison Fence mod with the El Wire barb wire, or anyone else familiar with El Wire.
Does the El Wire hold shape when bent? for the barb wire, is it wrapped around anything or is it holding shaped on its own?
Also, is that fence itself actual metal fencing?
Quoted from Lermods:Hit both flippers at same time when animation shows zombie hitb twice with crowbar. It will fling the ball.
I only knew that because I saw Bigd1979 post about it when I was scouring this thread after getting TWD. Does the game say to do that or give any indication that should be done?
I replaced the adjustable outlane posts with red star posts & red rubber rings; added white rubber slings and red flipper rubber because nothing beats the bounce of white and red rubber.
Initially I replaced all the sling posts with red star posts, but it slowed down the ball coming down the inlanes. So just one red star post at the bottom with the white slings had the proper clearance for the ball.
I saw where some people added the $35 ramp lighting and I had a spare blue and green 6 LED strip. I tried the blue, but it was just really hard on my eyes, didn't match the game; and was too distracting. I switched to the green strip and it was perfect. Not sure why this would cost $35 because a $6 LED strip looks terrific.
Added a blood splash to my Woodbury sign so it blends in better.
I wanted to add a little color to the inserts since most are just white. It would be nice for some inserts to be a different color so it's more clear what shots to shoot for. I happened to have purple 555s and tried those in the walker/crosshair inserts.
Oooof!!!! Awful!!! Just like the blue in the ramp was hurting my brain, the purples just did not look right at all. I think red would look great, but I don't have any spare 555s in red.
Green in the drop target inserts works very nice and draws attention to those important drops and quickly lets a player know which one is still standing.
You can see a few inserts lit up in my pics above for reference.
I would've tried green too, but only had three 555s left, so worked out for the drop inserts.
Looking forward to York so I can stock back up on 555 LEDs.
In stock at Marco:
http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/880-6169-00
I think this one looks better and will be a little cheaper too. $135 I think.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-WALKING-DEAD-Pinball-Dual-Circuit-Tower-Mod-/222211913765
Worked from home again today and since I use my jukebox PC for work also, my office is the gameroom. So while on a conference call, I decided to make the Express Mart sign to go along with the Woodbury sign I made the other day.
I think it came out pretty damn good and only cost me under $1 to make. I'm going to see about adding some ivy to partially obscure the sign like it was on the show.
Quoted from gweempose:Why so much? I thought they sell for $100?
Marco always has more expensive prices than anyone else. I guess when they have the only stock, the price goes up higher.
But anyway, the other tower mod looks more like it belongs and doesn't look like a toy.
Working on my super inexpensive and super cool looking barbed wire fence for the side panels. These will go over my Pingraffix artwork and look sharp (pun intended).
I finished cutting the right side to fit and I have it in the garage drying after spraypainting it metallic so the fencing shows up nicely against the pinblade background.
Will post the rest of the progress as I have pics. I also ordered 5m of El Wire for $6 shipped off ebay and the 6v VR2 power thing for connecting El Wire to 6v GI is only $14. Not sure if I will keep the El Wire installed, but it's a no brainer $20 project to try.
Total cost for both fence sides, including the spray paint = $9.45
Total cost for El Wire to make the barb wire mod = $20
I think the fence mod costs around $150 or so, right? Easy way to do it yourself right here and save $$.
Hell, the barb wire fence blades I made tonight are probably the coolest and visually striking, bang for your buck mod. $10
I need to "dirty" up the shiny fence a bit, but that's it, perfect fit.
Actually, better idea for when I dirty up the fence. I'll cut holes in it where there are zombies in the artwork behind it. Will allow that artwork to stand out better and make it appear zombies are coming thru the fence.
Quoted from bigd1979:How Did u bend the top section ?
That's the beauty, it's already like that. I just needed to trim the bottom to fit. I just think I finished it up and will post next revision pics in a bit.
Quoted from bigd1979:From what im told the el wire control box is modified to work the way it does in the pinball refinery fence.
This is what is needed to have the El Wire be controlled with the GI. $14 + shipping. El wire is dirt cheap and I'm getting 5 meters for $6.
http://www.trainaidsa.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=110
Version 1.98 installed and I already see I want to cut an opening in the back right fence and add some more drippy gore and that might do it. I'll try the El Wire because it will be easy to thread thru the "barb wire", but not sure I want glowing barb wire.
They ARE gutter guards that cost $2.84 per side. I went looking in Home Depot for some mesh material to use and this was perfect because they are 3' long, so no need to cut the length, just trim along the bottom. Then these just sit inside the cabinet between the wall and the plastics, they don't slide down further like mirror blades do.
Seems to be EXACTLY what Pinball Refinery uses for their fence mod. Except they charge $155 and don't actually mod the "fence" with holes, dirt or gore either. They just slap some El Wire on it and call it barb wire.
You know how cheap el wire is? Pinball Refinery marks it up by 1000% over price. $60 for El Wire?!?
Try $6 for 16 feet shipped FREE from Hong Kong and add $14 for the power thing so the el wire can be connected to the GI so it turns off and on with the GI.
Quoted from Tuna_Delight:Nice resourcefulness on the prison fence and signs! I'm curious as to what you're using for the "drippy gore" on your Well Walker and fence.
Resourcefulness comes to me because I'm cheap and I don't like paying for someone to make a mod that I can make just as well. $15-$20 for a simple sign? Please. Why would I need someone to paint a well walker for over $50? It's not painting the Mona Lisa, it's just blood and guts....you really can't fuck that up. I think my well walker look better than any that are sold by the commercial modders too. After looking at their well walkers I can see how basic of a paint job it is. No imagination, just touching up what is already there on the well walker.
The drippy gore is hot glue painted red with a paint stick. I used the hot glue on the well walker too for some nice gore.
Quoted from floyd1977:I like your DIY mods. Where did you get the image for your hell gas station sign?
Right here on pinside in the thread where the mod was first announced. There's a large enough photo that I was able to use and it came out just fine.
Ok, so tonight I realized how lame the Bicycle Girl ramp plastic is on the Pro. I never knew what indicated the ramp was lit until tonight when I saw the little blue light on the plastic above the ramp.
What have you done to mod and improve this? Seems ripe for a huge improvement and I'm coming up with some ideas.
Quoted from NightTrain:Nice work on the DIY mods PoMC. I do like mods but, I'm not a mod guy because I know how cheap they are and what people charge for them. It's crazy town.
Thanks, I've been having a lot of fun coming up with ideas and using other people's ideas for inspiration. Most fun I've had modding since TFTC.
I can think of several places this can go. Shooter lane wall; right side where the two ramps meet over the right pop; or on the "hump" of the left side's ramp return. It's only 3.25" L x 1" W x 2.25" high, so it'll fit in either of those spots without blocking ball view or looking out of place. Only $12 shipped too because I found one loose out of the package. apparently people buy this shit and never open the packages and don't want loose toys. Good for me!
I saw a burning barn mod that goes over that return hump, but I'd rather not be reminded of Season 2 and the farm & barn.
I thought an improvement to the Bicycle Girl plastic was to paint those shiny looking out of place screws, and at least have them blend in. Here's two of them painted to show the contrast. I just hit them with brown spray paint I had on hand (not while they were in the machine!)
Ignore those Dead Inside stickers on the doors - the material said it was "clear", but really was slightly milky looking.
While I had the screws off for painting, I saw the LED itself is white and a small blue plastic is over it. I took a lens off an LED and placed it in the hole from the back and it fits perfect and locks into place.
WAY better than the tiny blue light - I hate blue lights in sign lamps anyway because it's just not a nice color for alerts like that.
Have a Pro and it's also a light board with a white LED soldered on. What I installed in the hole is a lens cap I removed from the white LED shown in my first pic. So I didn't use that LED, just the lens cap.
I sure have and LOVE the game!
I work from home most of the week and I use my jukebox/touch game PC because I prefer standing up when working. So I'm practically staring at my games all day and thinking of stuff for TWD. I'm able to mod it while on calls and in between emails.
So basically I am getting paid to mod and play it.
Quoted from stoptap:Love the album covers on the walls but what the blue blazes ? You have Phil Collins in full view and Sgt Peppers' behind TSPP !
As we say in England, 'I say Old Chap, steady on !'
Ahhh, but gaze your eyes along the bottom of the other wall.
Quoted from stoptap:Grease betwixt the Beatles and Led Zeppelin ????
Hey, it's my wife's wall too. Both of our favorites are up there.
Village People is MINE!
First album I ever received along with Dirty Deeds when I was given a stereo for Christmas in 3rd grade.
Back in the club on Tuesday after a 6 year hiatus. Fun searching my posts in this thread to remember all the mods I had fun making.
What's the current state of custom code? Looks like the stock 1.60 was released after I traded the game, so will want to stick with that for a bit. But I know I'll be wanting to change music and callouts, but don't want to reinvent the wheel if there's already a good code edit out.
Seeing some posts recently about fence side blades. When I owned the game I came up with this cheap DIY mod that is customizable to your art blades. Like $4 per side blade with minimal modifications. Don't buy gutter guards at a 1000% markup lol.

Quoted from Neal_W:Generic redneck voice actor fits TWD better than the voices of the familiar on screen actors??
(Stern might agree since they saved hundreds of thousands not including them and continue to do so with every new title while shipping pins like crazy and stuffing their pockets.)
I’ve got five games on it since bringing it in the house this morning. I don’t find anything wrong with the callouts or the voice. I pretty much would prefer upbeat, up-tempo and fun Pinball callouts instead of ripping quotes from a TV series that may not have the energy or even the quality to sound good.
That said, I’m feeling a Pantera instrumental vibe for the game music to keep me interested.
Well, in 7 games played I found a major Stern factory fuckup that no prior owner has.
The Prison Zombie head was not registering hard, direct hits. Went into switch diag mode and the head switch was registering as Left Ramp Entrance. And you guessed it, the left ramp entrance switch was registering as Prison Head Zombie.
Those connectors under the playfield are 6" from even coming close to each other. No mods in the game. Wire loom zip tied and looks factory.
This game was used several weeks ago in some Virginia Pickle tournament too. No one noticed?
Quoted from roar:Whomever owned it previously was probably more preoccupied with filling the game with plastic figures, poorly 3D printed junk and other trinkets rather than playing one of the greatest games ever created! Cause you are right, that would be aggravatingly obvious!
Like I said, not a single mod. And no mod would require those two connectors.
How am I trolling about two swapped connectors? And I wouldn't expect anyone to notice me either. It's a dumb pinball forum.
