It's a little tight to fit in because its diameter is a smidge larger. But it fits and lowers the ramp so that it sits just below (rather than above) the lip of the end of the lifting ramp

Awesome. I suppose you could also add a washer to get the height exactly even also.
Appreciate it

Yes. You'd need to add washers on both the left and right posts, though. With just the new spacer the lip feels even (at least that's the case on my game).
Another issue - minor.
Sometimes before a ball has appeared 250000 scored.
I realised it must be a switch of Well Walker when it went into multiball and I hadn't even hit it.
Is it any easy switch adjustment? Anyone done anything similar? Thought would ask before altering anything.
We plan on making a fix for the TWD LE/Premium left ramp. This will make the LE/Premium left ramp as smooth as the pro!
I started a new thread for it here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/new-twd-lepremium-left-ramp-fix
If you have trouble with your ramp, it's likely not adjusted properly. I have mine sitting on a cliffy with the factory foam pads and it's perfect, very smooth. Ensure that where the lifting part of the ramp meets the fixed part is flush or even a touch higher, including the screws. Wax the ramp as well. There shouldn't be so many people having issues and should be easily fixed.

Even with adjustments, and/or a Cliffy the ramp simply rejects more balls than the pro ramp. With extensive testing, we have seen that the ball jumps (or skips) when it first hits the ramp flap, which is because of the steeper angle of this particular ramp. Other games have steep ramps, but they are fixed so they can include a slight curve in the ramp flap. Because TWD LE has a lifting ramp, the ramp flap can't be screwed down to create that curve.
The fix changes the angle of the entrance to the ramp and will be a better flowing ramp with the fix than without. It's great that you're happy with your ramp, but there's definitely a difference between the Pro and the Premium/LE left ramp which is pretty noticeable on most games.
Prison magnet question (Pro)...Is there any way to adjust the height? I'm noticing some wear around the bottom edge, and it feels as though the magnet might be a little below the playfield on that side. It's right on the "lip", so it doesn't seem like mylar would sit well there. Any thoughts?
You can simply raise the PF, loosen the huge bolt on the magnet assembly and then turn the screw to raise or lower the magnets height.
I haven't done this yet so the only thing I'm fuzzy on is if it raises just the small core in the center or the entire protective metal ring. Hopefully the latter.
Before loosing the big nut you can just try turning clock wise . I did the same on my premium . Was not very tight. If not loosen it
OK thanks I'll check it out tonight. I thought that screw was the adjustment... But I've never seen anything that size under the playfield. Didn't want to monkey with it without confirming.
regarding magnet cores:
I believe the hex nut is a 3/4". And to turn the core itself you need a large, thick flathead. Yes make sure to pay attention to them over the mos and yrs. you don't want them going too far up or down above or below the playfield.
monitor your magnets (on TWD pro, sparky, whiplash, monger, etc)

When raising the magnet, just watch it doesn't catch the edge of the top layer of the pf ply (with the art). If the magnet is slightly off centre, and/or the hole in the pf is too tight, raising the magnet can cause the top layer to split on the edge. The magnet should move up fairly easily. If it's too hard to turn the screw, it could be an indication it's too tight.
Thanks guys/gals for the help, I got it adjusted in short order. While discussion about Stern quality, inflated game prices and craigslist etiquette can be entertaining...this is the real reason to come to pinside!

Now that your core is presumably at a different rotation point... do you notice the magnet behavior to be any different? Does it fling the ball at a slightly different angle?
I ask because my Premium likes to fire it straight down at me - which is unlike the pro I had played repeatedly. Somebody here mentioned rotating the magnet a bit but I somehow don't think that will affect it. YOU can either make me fool with it or forget it.
And I do tap away with the flippers when it has the ball... and curse repeatedly because if I don't time it just right it can screw me. It can be a mean mistress sometimes. Part of it's charm I suppose.
Well, I guess your off the hook...I didn't really notice a difference in where it shot the ball. I only had to rotate a bit, so maybe not enough to affect. I think by rotating, it did change which part of the magnet was the highest, not sure if that would adjust trajectory. But then I haven't had an issue on mine with the ball coming straight down as long as I hold the flippers... At least now I'm not going to worry about any more damage...but I will keep an eye on that bolt.
Ahh thanks. Funny how different each TWD can play. Love my left ramp right out of the box but my prison mag is a SOB. At least the WW magnet is pretty amusing... when he fully hangs on to it he'll drop it nicely to the flipper - other times he whips it around... even up the riot shot. He's a helpful fellow that way.
Quoted from 27dnast:It's a little tight to fit in because its diameter is a smidge larger. But it fits and lowers the ramp so that it sits just below (rather than above) the lip of the end of the lifting ramp
Just to close the loop on adding a new, shorter, spacer to the right side of the bicycle girl ramp to get a smoother ramp experience:
I switched out the right-side stock hex spacer on the left ramp with a 4-inch spacer (http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/254-5008-21) in order to lower the lip of the main ramp where it meets the lifting ramp (new spacer is a bit wider in diameter, so the fit is tight but doable with some careful persuasion). In doing so, it dropped the edge of the main ramp just below lift ramp. Seemed okay until last night when a weakly hit ball got stuck on the gap between the lifting ramp and main ramp. :-/
So, I pulled the glass and added two small washers to the the right and left hex spacer on the main ramp...and the edges (or lips) of the main ramp and lifting ramp now feel completely smooth/level.
I've also added the bicycle girl cliffy. I originally left the factory pads under the bottom of the lifting ramp. Those pads create a very small space (1/16th of an inch?) at the edge of the tongue of the ramp. I was noticing that was creating a little bit of interference/bounce. So, after adding the washers, I took a razor and cut off about 1/8th-inch of each pad...cuts of very small increments... to get the tongue to lay flat while still leaving some of the pad under to the ramp to keep any bowing from occurring.
The end result is a ramp shot that is super silky smooth. In my test game I hit 8 in a row without a single hiccup...shot feels 100% good to go.
Anyhow, I know this (or something like it) has been documented somewhere in this thread, but wanted to get all of the details from my tweak/fix here just incase someone is looking for a bit more info/ideas on how to make that left ramp perform as it should. It's a shame that Stern didn't do this in the factory after initial runs...but it's easy enough and cheap enough to do in the home.
Happy Walker Killing!
Just wanted to post a link to an idea for a mod I had recently. I have spoke to a couple of well known Pinsiders about making the mod for me personally when my TWD Prem arrives. If there is enough interest for a potential run to be made for anyone interested that would be awesome.
Just trying to gauge potential interest first and any feedback/suggestions before moving forward.
Quoted from iceman44:Greatest pin so far.
Bottom line
Great pin no doubt... but lets be honest- very highly flawed: too much right flipper....too many drains (and/or tilt warnings) on successful shots. Too many hardware tweaks potentially required. Outlane adjustments dont do much to make it more enjoyable for newbs and novices. Code not 100% finished. Horde light, woodbury multikill? Wizard too hard for non professional. Kills during horde should count?
It's tied #4 for me despite the flaws. Plusses that compensate: layout (double edged sword), intensity, multipliers, several multiballs, appearance, atmosphere, generally achievable mini wizard, both pro and full game are good in diff ways

I think it definitely might be Stern's greatest pin ever... or very close to it. Awesome game

Not sure what you mean by Horde light and Woodbury multikill? I'm definitely not a professional, and I have been to Horde and Terminus on several occaisions.
Quoted from Bigbossfan:Don't know if it's a Stern or TWD issue. Either way hope someone can help.
Playing my TWD tonight and noticed all the lights are cycling at a rate of about 10 times normal. Suggestions on where to start looking?
Been posted multiple times, and the fix described. Even recently. Find it. I can't remember much more than that.
Quoted from Manic:Last night I'm playing this full bast in my pitch black living room. I take a break and hear a fox screaming outside. There's quite a few in my area and this time of year they scream to try to find a mate. It sounds like a baby shrieking...awesome sound.
I'm back in the game and all of a sudden I'm in Horde for the first time! I know I'm seriously late to the party but this is one *fantastic* game. I still have the outlanes at factory so most of my games are over quick ... BUT THEN!
That's what makes this game so special... you just never know.
Fox, eh? Well, down here I'm a bit more worried about this shizz going on when I'm playing TWD alone..

My lights had problems like that, got faster crazy. .stern sent me wire kit to replace original one ...call stern

Wow that is something to see. Yeah seeing that in the window (especially in the evening) would scare the sh*t outta me. What a badass.
Maybe he used to box?
Spent some hours working on The Dead tonight adding some mods. Just waiting for my Pinball Refinery EL prison wire to top it off. What do you all think about the topper I added with custom lighting (50 dollars total compared to 400 tank topper)?
Looking good man... nice job. Btw are those the red sling/guide protectors from PBL? If so do you have elevate them a bit with washers to avoid having the crossbow hit them?
Real nice job!

Nice modding! Love the custom topper and Rick shooting the walker across the p.f. Where did you get the Woodbry sign? I've been looking for one.
Quoted from crwjumper:LE Backglass wanted . . .
Is it even possible to buy an LE backglass for a TWD?
Only LE owners can buy the LE backglass from what I've read on the forum.

i think they were from pinball life, they were on machine when I got it. I had to pull the protector back as far as it would go then screw into place in order to avoid swing of crossbow. It's close but works great.

Thanks! Woodbury sign came with machine, you may be able to ask original owner Forensicd. The sign you can get many places still, but just looked and can't find one for sale with the LED in back so I'm not sure. The light behind it really makes a difference too.
Pinball life... Marco... Mezel mods... Don't they all sell the Woodbury sign? Seems like one of the easier mods to find

I don't think any of them do anymore... Wondering, though, do you need it? The insert flasher is bright!

Walking Dead TOOL Edition
Slayer Next?
Finally put this on my game. Never heard of TOOL before but it's like having a new game. Really enjoying it. So different to any other version.
