Yes. WW is a normally closed switch.

#11102 1 year ago
Quoted from Rensh:

Having an issue with my Xbow, hope that somebody can help me.
It loads the Xbow, it starts to move out for just a few mm, than it briefly stops and at the same moment the mode ends. Than Xbow will continu to move out and will fire the ball.
Puzzled on this for several hours, changed out even the switch but no luck. Banged the playfield with a fist to see if any flakey switch was present but no luck (as there was a mentioning once on this). It happens like 60-70% of the times.
Anybody an idea?
Am I correct in think that well walker switch is default closed? Eg when I hit the well walker it will open the switch which is than seen as a well walker hit.

Mine was doing this... It was binding up. Put a small washer under the mech to keep it from binding. Solved the problem.

Thanks. You have perhaps a picture where you did put the washer exactly?

Added some picture of my setup

Thanks

I had a look below playfield and found a blue part hanging by 1 wire and when I grabbed it it completely broke off. Looks like some kind of ceramic capacitor parallel to the motor.

Can someone make a picture of their setup pls? Tried to find it on the schematics but sofar no luck. Wonder if it’s related to my issue and what the value is.

So. replaced the ceramic capacitor with another one I fetched at a local repairshop. Had 9 good shots in a row so perhaps this was the trick?

However, I noticed that also the 'lightbulb' had a broken off leg at the bottom. What is the use for this, some kind of load? Is this a problem if not installed or ...? Anybody know where to get a replacement?

Not clear from your photo but probably this:

https://www.pinballlife.com/neon-bulb-sold-individually.html

Neon bulb used with Data East/Sega/Stern motors for electrical spike suppression.

I remember those from an old thread-

Check post #8675 of this thread as I had a fix for the motor that sorted this problem out.

So I sat next to The Governor (David Morrissey) this past week on a flight to London. We had a casual chat about The World Cup.

#11109 1 year ago

Oh, so he's a fan of JPop's work?

He's pretty creepy with the angry scowl, eye patch, and black clothes.

Recently bought a Premium, it came with this cup holder and shooter rod. I believe these are from Modfather. Anyone want them? I’ll cover shipping, just do a good deed or make a donation to project pinball or something. FYI, the shooter rod is slightly longer than standard. I’d recommend adding a small spacer or a couple washers to your liking.

Sorry if this has been asked before but I’ve got a few stuck balls lately that require removing the glass. It happens when the ball jumps up from the pop action. Stuck between the Well walkers arm and the crossbow sign.

Wow. In my 4 yrs of ownership never had this happen. Don’t know which advice to give here.

Never seen that either. Perhaps turn down the power for the coils on the pops?

#11119 1 year ago

Agree. 1'nce by chance... more than once and something is going on.

#11120 1 year ago

Took a hot minute but I have finally joined the club. What a fun game! Came with 3 translights but the original one is my favorite for now.

That's what was originally on mine. The instruction cards are comic as well. I still prefer the original but can see myself swapping them out some time.

#11123 1 year ago

I have the cards too but they faded. Machine doesn't get any real sunshine either.

Hey I was wondering if anybody has any extra zombie heads that I could turn into a shooter rod? Thanks!

#11125 1 year ago

I’m looking for a shooter rod as well. Added these today. Slick looking…

Do people have their Replay set to Extra Ball on TWD? I usually don't do that, but I've never even come close to Horde and think I would have a chance if I did. However, I don't want to cheat myself of the satisfaction of accomplishing it.

As a matter of fact, yes. I bought one on Etsy and it is perfect.

I went with green and asked the seller leave the eyelet off. Drilled a hole and epoxied in the rod.

I don't have replay set to that, but I may because Horde is so good and I rarely get there.
If you think that make the difference, I say do it. You’ll get so much satisfaction playing Horde that you’ll wish you did it sooner.

I didn't do that for mine, but you do you. Get as much joy out of this game as you can! With the game set to factory rules and posts I found Horde achievable, Terminus on a rare occasion, Siege darn near impossible and LMS simply impossible . I miss this game. It's the only owners thread I return to with any regularity of all the games I've owned and I haven't owned this one in a number of years now.

Does anyone know where I can get the well walker and prison magnet protector rings? Also the bicycle girl ramp playfield protector? I emailed Cliffy and no reply.

I know Cliffy is like 6 weeks delayed. (not in email but production) My suggestion is to be a bit patient. He will get back to you.

Me too. There was a lot of talk in this thread a while back about how the prison magnet protector would cause the prison hits to not register because the ball would launch off the protector just high enough to miss the optos

I thought that was bs before I installed, but sure enough, as soon I installed it, hard shots would not register. Couldn't see it happening because the shots were too fast, but as soon as I removed the protector, and installed mylar, all shots registered again.

Wow, thats interesting to know. I wouldn't think that would happen either.. Good info.

In most applications mylar is just as good as a cliffy and doesn’t mess with gameplay.

Which code is better, bm66 or twd?

#11138 1 year ago
Quoted from DropGems:

TWD and it’s nowhere near close. B66 is borderline broken imo. You can get it to a state of never ending multiballs and multipliers where it becomes how long you can stand at the game.

TWD by a country mile

Has any got these on their Prem/LE and can offer a review? Good or bad. At near $60 aud it’s an expensive mod

Don't have them but just my thoughts I thought about getting them, but for me it's too much of a game alter because it changes geometry and Flow and you'll never see these installed in tournament play. I didn't want to get used to something that wouldn't be there giving my scores false representation. But like every other mod it is your game so your enjoyment is the ultimate experience I would say if you're not into tournament pinball then heck yeah try it out.

I think they are both outstanding, with more different things to see and do in BM66, I’m a low - middle level player so haven’t seen all of TWD or BM66 yet.

BM66 has some of the best assets and asset integration of any pinball machine.

My plastic on the left ramp broke too. I made a new one and then i stuck a little piece of dead ball foam to the underside of the rubber stopper the ramp flap hits so it effectively stops the flap just a bit early and keeps it from slaming up into the plastic.
