Quoted from Who-Dey:

Damien you keep complaining about how unfair and brutal TWD is but you have been to Horde and other modes several times and your high score is really good the best that i recall so it sounds like your kicking its ass instead of the game kicking yours.
When the ball comes out of the pops my game rarely sends the ball SDTM but you can tell when its going to happen and you can absolutely nudge at just the right time and prevent the ball from draining between the flippers.
TWD is definitely harder than 99% of the games out there but it sounds like you are an above average player and are doing better than most people that play it. TWD is hard, its that simple.

You make a very good point... I think my griping is a testament to how much of an ass thrasher this game can be.

Despite the many middle fingers I flip this game, the rush you get from a good game on TWD is epic! Horde is such as thrill!

And at the end of the day, despite how brutal or forgiving a game may be, we should all be grateful that we're fortunate enough to even have these games in the convenience of our homes

Tonight I go for Valinor! Haha

Yeah its a brutal game for sure and im not getting on you or anything either about complaining, just letting you know that you're actually doing pretty well at the game. Just think how scrubs like me feel.

#6503 5 years ago

I have had 15 Sterns and TWD is at the top for me . Every game you have a chance to put together a frenzy of great rewarding shots. I got 80 kills tonight and it was so cool. Is 100 kills the number for Last man standing ?

No worries at all. I had a good friend come by to play some pinball tonight, and he played a couple of games on TWD and said he's done with it. I told him to give it one more shot, and he ended up with a 100+ million game and said it was really fun when things got flowing.

It's a tough game to play when you're playing Attack From Mars right before jumping on it.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement switch for the well walker, I have read about others that replaced it and it helped with random triggers
thanks

Have you tried gapping first?

Quoted from FatPanda:

can you explain what I should do, I lifted the playfield up, and see the switch. Do I insert something between it and the metal plate that it touches?
Thanks!

Try bending the actuator downwards (towards the switch) so that it takes a longer throw to activate it (the knob at the end is further from the plate). A needlenose pliers would be helpful.

I put a new spring on mine and it has stopped the 'sloppiness' and random hits from pops or shaker movement.

Buy one of these. You'll end up using it for slingshot switches, and many other switches in games.

Thanks for the advice guys, I took that metal thingy and pulled it back a little bit, so far so good.

Mcfarlane has a line of little realistic looking toys that fit on this pin pretty well without looking out of place. I know a lot of you hate dolls on pins. These remind of the figures on LOTR which came from factory.

I made this Daryl mod for right ramp using The spare left ramp plastic that keeps ball jumping off track.

And yes I have went over board and I can see why some hate it when people put dolls on their pins.

I have owned and sold BSD, TS, TOTAN, TOM, CONGO, STTNG, WH20, LOTR, Met Pro, AC/DC prem, IMVE. BSD and TS are about the only pins I would go out of my way to have back. I currently own SM, Sopranos and TWD. I play TWD 10 to 1 over my other 2 current pins.

Out of all the pins I’ve owned it is 100% my favorite pin ever. I have had it for close to a year and I am not even close to getting tired of it. I can’t say that about hardly any of those pins listed above. I still haven’t made it to Terminus, Siege or Last Man Standing but I am getting closer. Very difficult pin with great rules. There are plenty of ways to play and get on the scoreboard even if you aren’t gonna get a high score.

#6523 5 years ago

I hear you Rawbars. TWD is a must have in any size collection.

I dont hate it at all, i think it looks awesome!

Just joined the club! Sold my spiderman VE and purchased this nice HUO from a local young pinball fan. Wife is much happier with this game and after adding the new soundtrack with TV show character callouts puts it over the top! Next up, flipper fidelity speakers with 10
Inch sub, mirror blades, then after some more OT, a color DMD! Soooo glad my wife loves it, because if she isn’t happy, nobody is lol.

I'm on pin #11, still looking for the right pin. I'm trying to make Mama Happy just can't find the right one. Maybe it not the pins she's unhappy with. Say it ain't so, it must be me.

I'd get DI , made me and my whole family happy! TWD made me and my buddies happy!

Can't go wrong with Medieval Madness. #1 for a very good reason.

This game kicks my #&&, check degrees at it's at 7.1 is that to steep. Look at scores, I played a total of 8 games. I was player 1-4.

Just posted to your slope poll. 7.1 for me, only player at that slope. I'll level it down to 6.5 - 6.8 and see if that don't help my game.

Quoted from Indusguys:

I want MET NIB while they still are available. DI I haven't played yet, but should in about 6 weeks. I'll checl it out.

#6532 5 years ago
Quoted from Spiderpin:

check degrees at it's at 7.1 is that to steep.

If a good shot can make the ramps it's not too steep. The ball will roll slightly faster coming down, thereby reducing side to side motion slightly. Side to side motion is generally uncontrollable, vertical motion can be handled with good flipper skills.

A steeper game is not automatically harder.

Quoted from Spiderpin:

I have my MMR, DI, and LOTR at 6.5 and I love how they play.

AFM is at 6.7-6.8 because I find the outlane drains in that game almost defeating. Probably one of the reasons I'm parting with it.

LOTR is even worse for sure drains, but I think the depth of the game will keep it around for a while. And Horde mode is just epic!

I have it set at 6.5 right now, but might raise it up to see if it plays a little kinder.

I love this idea! Just ordered one from amazon! I added a space ship to my STTNG, so why not to Walking Dead?

I'll be adding some little people to mine also. Aka copy what you have. Looks good to me.

#6539 5 years ago

I stole the idea from another post buried somewhere in this thread. It’s kind of a pain in the ass to get the characters you want. Because a lot of them come in blind packs.

You have to build the little figures and they have a little U shaped clip on one foot that slips under a screw or bolt. All you gotta do is tighten them down. I did gorilla glue the figures together. Because airballs would occasionally take off a limb etc.

#6540 5 years ago

I managed to get a few walkers staggering out from around the prison. And that’s Merl behind bycicle girl yelling across the overpass at Daryl.

And I got Rick and Coral on one side of playfield with The Governor popping up behind the Woodbury sign.

And Michone on the other side of the playfield with a couple more walkers.

Air ball would be like a big ass canon ball unloading on them. That was funny reading that part.

#6544 5 years ago

Lord we all got too much time on our hands. The little figures are easy enough to stick wherever. I was pretty proud of myself for finding the spare left ramp plastic I had and glueing some road squares to it that would hold Daryl’s bike in place. And it already had 2 screw holes in it. One for the interstate sign and one to attach it to the right ramp.

Finally got my pro setup last night and was able to play a handful of games!!! I’ve played the game dozens of times on location, but it’s even more fun now that I can go to my basement whenever I choose and play.

I now don’t even have the slightest remorse over selling my Fish Tales.

If your like me, I like this but at times it kicks my @&&. See my post #6529 and I've got this game on Dec. 2014. It's a challenging game for sure. Great code to boot.

My machine was doing it’s fair share of ass kicking, but one game I felt I was working her over. I put up 475 mil and was two weapons away from qualifying horde. That game was so intense and fun!
