This just popped into my head last night, so I thought I’d ask.

Let’s say there’s a unique situation where someone has a remake playfield of AFM and and original head. If that person wanted to make a working game how difficult would it be to get it running?

I assume that the all PCB’s on the playfield would need to change as well as the leds switched to sockets. But would the mechs just virtually connect up with minimal effort?

I also wondered if you had a new remake playfield, how readily available are the original boards (original or aftermarket) and would it be feasible to Frankenstein a game together this way.

This project would be for someone that doesn’t like the remakes electronics, wants something as close to original as possible and isn’t afraid of all the work.

Another scenario would be someone with a busted up original. Toasted playfield and cabinet, but works 100% electronically and mechanically.

If they found a pro dirt cheap, would it be possible to put all of the old electronics into the new cabinet.

Quoted from Coz:

Just buy an AFMr classic used

This scenario is for someone that’s afraid of surface mount electronics or thinks that the new game plays differently.

For one reason or another just buying a remake doesn’t work for this individual.

We’ve all heard the arguments that one is better then the other. Weather they’re frivolous or legit, that’s not the point. This is for someone that MUST play on original electronics.
