    Don't take my advice as "you should do this" since I'm still a newbie, but I think some people will soak metal parts in either simple green or mean green. They both work as de-greasers and cleaners. Then you use a toothbrush to get into the crevices and scrub.

    You could blow them off with air (outside, since it's toxic and you shouldn't be breathing it in), or wipe down with microfiber cloth. Moisten the cloth with novus 1 or water if the dust is clinging too much. Just make sure the parts are comply dry after that.

    That's more of a initial cleaning step, rather than a last final finishing step.

    Out of curiosity, how would you get those parts to dry properly to prevent rust on them?
