Anyone know what this is? It contains three LEDs and is on the same line as the power to the "shoot again" light. The wire leading out (black) is unattached.

What's the history of the machine, is it HUO? I'd attach the black wire to ground and see if it does anything. Maybe it could also be IR to trigger an external device when Shoot Again is lit.

Unfortunately, I don't know the full history of the machine except that it has passed between a few folks in pinside and that it may have been routed for a short period of time at some point. Interesting idea that it triggers an external device. Next time I'm in the machine I'll ground it and see what it does. Further updates to come. . .

I'm just guessing. Arcades and operators throughout the world come up with many ingenious ways to make amusement machines payout.

it is not factory, no reason to ground it.. it just flashes the LED's just remove it.

Thanks. Any idea why it was put in?

Does it reach far enough where maybe it was attached as a MOD to the ball drain, or Ball Shooter Lane?

Exactly what i was thinking, used to be a playfield mod of some sort,, looks like a road light, what colour are the leds?

Why yes, yes it does. No obvious place it was attached, and turns out it is green. Doesn't match, so I just took it off.

you would need to find the person who installed it and asked. there is no normal reason for it, there is no "normal mod" that would do this.

I would ASSUME.. that it lit up the out-hole from the bottom giving like a green glow to the outhole for "shoot again"

Makes me want to invent crap, and install in any game I sell or trade.

Just to make people guess years later what the heck it was.
