Bought a TSPP from a friend about a year ago and the TV display never worked. Had another friend check the TV display on his TSPP and the display checked out fine.
Traced the wires and had continuity and power from the driver board to the TV display.
Checked some other threads here and the consensus seemed to be that the most likely faulty chips were U201 and the U206. They are both 74HCT273N chips.
Finally ordered the chips from Great Plains (10 chips and 5 sockets because they are so cheap) and first replaced (with a major assist from fellow Pinsider Eric who did the actual board work) the U201 because it is the closest to the connecter on the board, but no joy. Then we replaced the U206 and BINGO - a working TV display!
Now I need to learn the rule set for this game an play some serious The Simpsons Pinball Party!
