So I've had my TSPP for a few years now and it's a great example of the game. Very clean with cliffy's, LED's, Moe's Tavern Mod and a few other goodies...

Lately I have been just "thinking" about possibly trading it towards another machine??

Maybe a CV, BDK, FGY, POTC, TZ ??

I haven't even posted it for trade or for sale yet, I was just curious on some other opinions.

I know the other games aren't necessarily as deep as TSPP but it just seems that no one in my house plays that game compared to the other games in my lineup??

#2 12 years ago

I don't think you are. I'd take most those games over TSPP. Don't know POTC that well so I can't say there.

#3 12 years ago

I personally prefer TSPP over all those pins you listed. But all that is really important is what you would prefer. If you like some of those pins better and would enjoy playing them more often then by all means make a trade. If I had to choose a few to trade it for my first two choices would be BDK and TZ none of the others really do it for me.

#4 12 years ago

if I had any of those machines to trade, I'd take your tspp in a heartbeat.

Post edited by Blakesell : although I'd probably hesitate quite a bit if I had TZ!

I couldn't get into TSPP , but I've Owned 2 Single Owner POTC 's , Great Pin.. It Doesn't have the Ole Pirate's language that BR has but's it's still a good Pin .. Good Luck !!

NICE POTC's my friend!! I dig the viking helmet on the other pin too

#7 12 years ago

POTC is probably my favorite pin to date. I love the stop and go style and it's the king of stop and go.

#8 12 years ago

No one in your house, including you? If you're not playing it either, I'd say you'd be crazy NOT to trade it assuming the deal was fair.

#9 12 years ago

Honestly, I think TSPP is better than any of those other games but at the same time it's the easiest one to replace since the game is generally easy to find. My recommendation would be to trade it and if you regret your decision later you can always sell the new game (in quick time given the titles you listed) and buy another TSPP.

#10 12 years ago

Thanks for all the valued opinions guys

#11 12 years ago

I don't like any pins in a cartoon theme for some reason; I have no idea why. Something about all the colors or they just seem determined to jam pack so much art in everywhere tht they can. Over kill it would seem to me.

#12 12 years ago

the only one i would do the trade for is CV. you'll have to pony up some dough though.

#13 12 years ago

If a pin gets stale, move it. I think you could do a lot better than the titles you listed, but that's just my opinion. Of those I'd probably I'd probably pick POTC as it seems like it would be a good "family" pin.

#14 12 years ago

I might sell my TZ , If I dig my AC/DC Premium .... I Hate to even say this, I know I will Regret it.. I have Almost Ever mod installed , even have a FF Sound System installed.. I can Ship too.

You can lOOk thru this thread and see Alot of Pict's and video's of TZ ...

I don't think anything to date is as deep as TSPP, so nothing will compare on that standard. It really depends on what you want. I own TSPP TZand CV. TZ is deep and classic. CV is rarer with really unique features and great colors. Not a pin for everyone though. Definitely get some time on it before trading for it.

As far as the others, only played POTCand did not get a good sense of the game since it was poorly maintained.

CV is far from perfect but it's a great game. It's s super fun player, and if you don;t like it you won't have any problems finding a buyer.

B_R...come back off the ledge brother...don't do it!

I don;t need to worry though...you won't like the ACDC more than the TZ.

We'll See !!!!!! The wait for a NIB pin Suck's !! I've had a taste of The Premium , " Want more "

#19 12 years ago

TSPP is a very hard game, that rewards you the better you are. There are no easy things to start for novice players, much like how non-pinheads don't gravitate towards TZ.

#20 12 years ago

If your family doesn't like TSPP they won't like TZ. Once I got TSPP my desire to play TZ went to nil and I sold it quickly thereafter (don't miss it either). TSPP > TZ.

Man you must be pretty pumped about your first NIB!! Congrats! I hope to be adding a NIB this year as well never thought I would be saying that but this addiction just takes over sometimes you know.

#22 12 years ago

I'm just not a fan of TSPP so obviously I don't think you are crazy for wanting to sell/trade it. I'd be more likely to say that you are crazy for hanging on to it for two years!

I'd keep TSPP over any of those you listed. Besides, good luck finding someone who wants to get rid of their TZ for a TSPP.

#25 12 years ago

I wasn't stuck on any one of those titles I listed originally.... Just something different and fresh.

My guess is that the WoZ you ordered will satisfy your simpsons cravings. I say go for a trade.

All the games you list are great games. If you're not playing it, time to shake it up. You can always find another. Good luck. Let us know what you do.

Nice, that's the way to go on a TZ. I have most those mods also. Looks great The fact that you have to say "I hate to say it" is sort of sad.

#31 12 years ago

tz or cv (even better) ,you'd be way ahead in my estimation

#32 12 years ago

I like TSPP better than any of the pins you listed, but if you aren't playing it, and you're looking for something else, then do it.

Traded my TSPP to get a Spider-man, and I do miss it. Love Spider-man more, but still miss TSPP.

I just sold my TSPP and picked up a POTC last Saturday. I really couldn't be happier. TSPP was just a chore, while POTC has some great toys and a lot of really fun shots!

If you thought TSPP was a chore, give POTC a couple weeks...then let us know how you like sinking ships and qualifying for heart multiball over and over and over and over, lol. Because once you get decent you'll achieve 6 of the compass points without even trying meaning you have another 30 or 40 shots at the ship and a bunch more at the chest (depending on whether you get the jackpot the first time). POTC is the posterboy for pinball 'chore'.

#35 11 years ago

The only thing that counts is what you like.
Only advise i can give is to be sure before you sell or trade it off. Especially when you have a nice one. Because getting one back in the same condition is certainly going to cost you more at the end.

I suppose "chore" was the wrong word to describe TSPP. After months of trying to like it, we just had to give up on it. It wasn't fun. Everyone that came over didn't feel like playing it after trying a couple games. Too much revolved around the upper playfield. It's awkward. We always end up huddled around Iron Man.

I've had, cumulatively, way more fun on the POTC in the last few days than I've had over 5 months of TSPP ownership.

#37 11 years ago

TSPP is one of two games I have ever walked away from with multiple credits in the machine.

Maybe it's my age, but TSPP put me to sleep.

Possible Current Trade Offer:

Trade TSPP for huo POTC - Straight Across.

Do it. On average POTC is a more valuable pin by a few hundred bucks with all things being equal as far as condition goes and is more fun to play IMO.

POTC for sure. TSPP is kinda messy for me.

From a pure financial point that is a good trade for you assuming the pins are in similar condition to each other.

Reminds me of TOM. While the flow is great and the game is beautiful, I always want to strangle that lady after playing a while.

Depends on if you like POTC. I don't care for it at all and would much prefer to have TSPP. However, like others have stated POTC is probably worth a little more than TSPP so if you like POTC it would be a pretty good trade for you.

I got a pretty good deal on my HUO TSPP last year but for some reason I couldn't get into it and most people who came over just liked how it looked but not how it played and would play my Flintstones more. I had it for 2 months before I traded it away and probably played less than 40 times.

I used my TSPP as trade bait for something else that was on my wish list which was I500. I also got a JM out of the trade because the person couldn't afford to throw extra cash on top of I500 trade and was also 3 pins over his limit in his home so wife wasn't happy. In the end we both felt like we got good value out of the trade and to this day he still tells me how happy he is still.

Quoted from movingpictures:

Bring on the speed!
Bring on the rush!

Big contrast in speed with me going from TSPP to I500 and JM <-- this one really surprises me and probably the fastest game I have ever played.

I think trading a Stern for a Williams is always a good idea. I don't dislike Stern games regardless of quality comparisons etc but all Stern games have the same socialist scoring. I like games that give out big scores for doing the hard jackpot shot or whatever the case instead of every shot being being worth 350k and the jackpot shots worth 1mil and finishing a wizard mode maybe 10mil. I know its stupid and probably many older Williams games have ridiculously unbalanced scoring but that 100mill super jackpot feeling is hard to shake.

#49 11 years ago
Quoted from Winball_Pizard:

Haha agreed. I think NF Super is 200,000,000. That'll wake you up!
