Saw this gem of a lie on Facebook this morning. Trying to sell a TSPP for 8k saying it originally sold for 14k. SHAME!

Really? You think THIS is the biggest lie on Facebook?

#5 4 years ago

$15k by Christmas

#6 4 years ago

Maybe $12K-$14K was in Itchy & Scratchy dollars?

The only thing that bothers me about this dumb ad is the moronic assertion that it will be worth more money once the show is off the air.

Hugh Hefner dying didn't make Playboy worth more, and a show being canceled won't make it worth more either.

But damn, pin sellers never get tired of trying to build that particular house of cards!

Jason Bloom must be an alias for Lionel Hutz.

#9 4 years ago

The show was renewed through 2023 so why do they think it’ll be canned?

#10 4 years ago

... but I saw it on the internet, so it's true!

Bought mine NIB when they first came out for $3600

#12 4 years ago

Maybe he just doesn't know?

#13 4 years ago

The only thing missing from that ad is "super rare" and "minty fresh".

#14 4 years ago

Don’t forget immamaculate.

Me too.

Thank God you found this and warned us.

Okay, okay, okay. This is the biggest lie on Facebook Marketplace related to pinball I've seen in my feed in the past 2 months.

I'm not huge on Social Media and only use it for the marketplace. Don't even really know what normal posts look like so this is the biggest lie to me.

What the seller obviously means is: when the simpsons is finally cancelled in 2049, $12-14k dollars will have the same buying power as $3600 in 2003.

#19 4 years ago

I so want to go and offer him $2200.

#20 4 years ago

I feel bad for whoever buys it, once they learn more about this fun hobby they will find out they’ve been duped.

I just couldn’t do that to someone myself even if I knew I could get away with it.

#21 4 years ago

Ad is lame, but not abnormal for Facebook. Also, I agree "Minty Fresh" should be banned!

Que the anti-price police who want to criticize people for pointing out an ad is BS and save someone from getting ripped off.

It’s more like “why bother?” And “what’s the point?”

Nobody here is gonna buy a tspp for $8,000.

Nobody here cares that there’s some crazy ad for a pinball machine online somewhere. There are 5000 just like it posted every year.

These “look at this crazy ad!!!” Posts just clog up pinside and serve zero purpose. We don’t think you are smart or clever because you found a crazy pinball ad. A 6 year old could do it.

“Once the Simpsons are off the air.”

Sure, it has to happen at some point. But, it’s been going for 30 years now. And when it does end, they could rerun the entire series again and most of us wouldn’t be around to see the end again the second time.

Anyway...it’s Facebook. Expect some excessive creativity in the ads. Just as you almost have to expect 99 out of 100 Craigslist ads to likely be a scam.

Shaq retired a decade ago and my Shaq Attaq has been sitting out there for over a week at $899!

I call BS.
