Quoted from lordloss:Was this the one for $4800 with nuclear side rails over the buttons at mgc? I paid $4600 for a really low plays HUO a couple weeks after mgc.
nope, this is a stock example. I opened it up to start going over it and WOW. It is such low play that it still has the shipping plastic for the Bart figure attached, LOL. Previous owner did not even remove that.
Curious, I know TSPP was run a few times/for a few years. Are there any difference during the run duration from earlier vs/ later?
I hope to get up photos in a week or so and will likely put up a price check thread as I am not really sure on this specific game and it came as a package deal.
Quoted from gweempose:The most obvious difference would be the playfield colors. For example, some have a red car, while others have a more pinkish car. The earlier runs also had that weird black blotch on Homer's head.
any other game differences? This one has a flawless cabinet that look very nice. I have seen others on route that dont look as crisp as this one does.
Quoted from ramegoom:This style of set will last forever. Klein Tools:
that is the best for sure. I can say they wont last forever as I have had the magnets fall out of a couple, but still the best variety to get.
take the balls out of the game
lift it in the upright position or the service position (whichever give you better access to both sides)
Screw or bolt on bottom side. Nut driver on topside.
Loosen and all good.
Quoted from NightTrain:Dude.....have you sat at a desk your whole life? You're killing me here lol! Hold the bolt head on the bottom side while removing the nut from the top.
he is still a kid and learning. Give him a break. We all have to learn at one time and that is what the internet is for. Helping us learn.
Quoted from NightTrain:Ok ok ok. If he's a kid it's all good. Must have a lucrative paper route. If he was a 40 year old man and didn't know how a bolt and nut worked, but made enough money to afford a pinball machine, I would be puzzled.
He is one of the top 10 tournament player in the world. I am guessing he won the machine
I am really happy to see he is starting to learn how to wrench on them. Working on games and modding them can be fun aspects of the hobby, so cool to see someone that got their start in pinball as a competitive player learn to work on them.
I can say that taking apart and putting together games has actually made me a better player, so you may se a side benefit Josh
Quoted from multibrawlr:would a Sharpie be good to touch up the little damage around the hole?
NO, NEVER use sharpie. Sharpie will bleed and make an aweful mess down the road if someone decides to ever tear down and clearcoat a game.
Quoted from D-Gottlieb:A sharpie works
I repeat, NO, NEVER a sharpie anywhere on a pinball machine!
Quoted from multibrawlr:Good catch. The damage isn't that bad anyway so I think I'll leave it the way it is.
yup.
Assuming the Cliffy will cover it anyway.
Quoted from gweempose:I agree that Sharpies are a bad idea. I have good results doing minor playfield touchups with paint pens.
again, a no-no (assuming they are enamal like most paint pens)
Use createx latex paint if you need to do a touch up. If you screw it up then it is easy to remove/ non-permenant. Also, it wont bleed if clearcoated.
