Quoted from RandomTask:

Hi all, just wanted to share my Treehouse Mod from sparky I'm really impressed. Very well crafted, it was packed great. This covers up that unsightly nest of lights and in my opinion, the best mods are the ones that look like they came from the factory.... quite frankly, this is great. Took some minor bending to position it and a cramped hand to get that nut back on, but there you have it!
[quoted image]

Does the treehouse block the view of the pinball? Especially around the left flipper?
Both, standing up and sitting down view - my family likes to sit on a barstool while playing.

Thx

Just bought my TSPP a few weeks ago.
So I just purchased a 'few' Simpsons characters...
14 total with 1 more on the way (hard to see dog, cat and Maggie by the couch)

Obnoxious looking, isn't it?

I'll probably take out Homer, Marge, Maggie, Bart, Lisa and Grandpa and put them as a topper.

Figured I would post the pic because I think it looked funny with all of them crammed onto the playfield.

Quoted from Bospins:

Hey guys
What’s the correct flipper rebuild kit?
This one?
https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/SFLKIT-1L2R
It comes with 1 left and 2 right...so I need to get another left and another right. Right?

I just did my very first flipper rebuild a fews ago and it was on my TSPP.

You can buy that kit and get another left & right kit for the upper playfield.
FYI, Only the LEFT & RIGHT main flippers use EOS switches.

So if you bought the above kit - you can save some money and buy the pieces separately for the Upper Playfield left & right flippers (you would have 1 spare EOS switch if done this way).

**NOTE ** The kits DO NOT come with flipper bushings, so buy 1 per flipper
https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/545-5070-00

For the UPPER PLAYFIELD (Left & Right W/O EOS Switches):

2x Coil Stop = https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/515-6308-01

4x Nylon Nuts = https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/240-5005-01
4x Machine Screws = https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/4006-01113-06

2x Flipper Bushing = https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/545-5070-00

-----------------------
OR buy the 1 Left / 1 Right kit and buy 1 Left & 2 Right flipper parts separately

3x Coil Sleeve = https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/03-7066-5

I'm Not a graphic artist at all, but I wanted to make my own custom TSPP speaker box decal. After measuring and creating a template in photoshop, I added a high res background and a bunch of characters.
This is still a test copy printed on 3 pieces of plain paper (not vinyl yet) and taped together.
I also made custom side blades but I'm still refining the artwork.

Quoted from sk8ersublime:

Personally, i would remove "The Simpsons" from above the DMD. The name is already on the backglass so its not necessary imo.

Cool, thanks. I didn't think about that since it was part of the original image.

Quoted from D-Gottlieb:

Yes, remove all text and don't distort the shapes of the characters.

Yep, I was randomly sizing and placing the characters. Hopefully I'll get it completed. Thanks.

Quoted from Mrawesome44:

Hey guys I have a question. My game rom is 4.0 I was going to upgrade to 5.0. Do I need new sound chips as well

The Sound chip U7 was upgraded from v1.00 to 1.01 (around Jan 2003) so you probably have the latest sound chip.
The four voice chips were not upgraded.

Check the label on the sound chip -
v1.00 labeled $A734
v1.01 labeled $A7EE 01/17/03

Changes from sound ROM v1.00
----------------------------
- Rebalanced voice calls vs. bg music.

Do you need to upgrade it? I'm guessing you don't but it only costs $10, so I would.

Quoted from StoneyCreek:

What is the toughest part of installing the color DMD and enabling it? Is there ROM chips and detailed soldering required? Have not gone there yet. I’ve replaced the under the LR VUK with my rudimentary soldering skills, installed Cliffys and things like that, but have not done major surgery like replacing DMD. Any hints would be good as I’m thinking maybe (hint, hint) someone will get me one for St Nick’s day.

Pretty easy install - no soldering needed. Install latest Display Rom for color lcd.
Unplug power connector from old lcd. Unplug a few ribbon cables. Pull off display board from old lcd. Remove some screws to remove lcd. Screw in new lcd and plug in ribbon cables. Mount display board back onto lcd. Run new power cable under playfield to front of cabinet. Turn on pin. Plug usb stick into lcd and push some buttons located on lcd to upgrade to the color game graphics. Push some more buttons if you want to configure some settings.
Done

Quoted from cjchand:

You get to that mode by lighting and collecting Otto 10 times, then shooting Otto once more.
Here's a link to a rules diagram I made. This is a pretty complex pin
https://www.dropbox.com/s/pf9hwkgrsiu959v/TSPP%20Rules%20v3.1.pdf?dl=0

TV Mode says "Right Ramp (Krusty)"
Double Scoring mode says "Right Ramp (Moe's)"

TV Mode Should say "Right Ramp (Moe's)"

This is great, thanks so much!

You can also make and print your own custom speaker panel. This pic is still a work in progress. I'm surprised you got tspp and t2 so quickly.

Quoted from mikespins:

Thanks! Where did you get that art, and what size paper did you print on?
I noticed a few weird things on the playfield, next to / behind Homer's head.
The red arrow shows the first thing, which is a screw with very little what looks like plastic under it. The blue arrow shows a post with no rubber.
Can anyone provide me any insight please? I've checked the manual and it looks like maybe I'm missing a black ring on the blue post, but can't find anything on that screw. Thanks. [quoted image]

I got all the art off google image search. Printed on three sheets of 8-1/2x11 vinyl and used laminate roll on top. But I will get professional printed eventually.
I can make a custom speaker panel for you if you want - same background, but the characters can be changed and moved around.

Red arrow - mine doesn't have a screw there, but there is a hole in the characters head.

Blue arrow - mine doesn't have any rubber ring on it either. Doesn't bother me enough to add one.

Quoted from Dr_Gonzo:

New club member as of yesterday. Found a really nice 2013 machine. Good colors, slight flipper wear, and a couple of chipped plastics is all I see for flaws. It needs the latest ROM and of course color dmd. Couple questions, why isn't this ball guide straight? I looked at a lot of pics and some look like mine but others don't. Maybe since mine was an early version it was changed later? Also, I've seen NVRAM for $15 on some sites but bory's anypin is 40. Is there a difference?
[quoted image]

anyPin DMD+ NVRAM Battery Eliminator is $20

Here's a pic of it installed in my tspp.
