Quoted from Beatnik-Filmstar:Side note - I have no idea if the difference is really noticeable to the naked eye. Herg? The charts on your site are cool, but I'm assuming that x axis is some really small unit of time. How noticeable is a 0-40% jump versus 0-6-12-1-8-24-30 etc?
With default settings it's about 50 ms per step if you're going from off to on or vice versa. I have had my wife install a non-ghosting bulb in one location and a standard bulb in another, and I was able to identify them by sight, through an insert. I would guess that I'm pickier than most people, though.
In a couple of cases, like Spider-Man, there are bulbs that stay lit at a dimmed value, and with those it prevents you from being able to use those low brightness values. A dimly lit bulb won't look dim in that case because the lowest you'd be able to set it would be 40% or you'd see flicker any time the game used the dim lighting.
