Quoted from Jean-Luc-Picard:If anyone buys the Pinball Life Side Nuke Rails. Fun way to hide the bolt holes till you get a proper black sticker. "BTW, the rails don't line up with the buttons and you have to file part of the side down to get the lock down bar back on." Overall, I would avoid this product.
Eh? I have the Nuke rails from PBL and didn't have to file anything. They fit great and only took a few minutes to install.
Quoted from Jean-Luc-Picard:Maybe I got a bad copy. But, they also feel cheap. The crappy paper/Plastic behind the Nuke Symbol is junk. As well the Powder coating is like sand paper. Its so thick it prevents the bar from locking. I had to file the Powder coating on one side to get it to go down. Still have to smash it down. Overall, cheaply made and overpriced.
Yeah, you must have a dud. Mine feel like regular Stern powder coated rails (for better or worse), definately not globby or sandpaper-y. And the yellow thing is nice and sturdy. I forget if its plastic or metal, but I'm leaning towards metal. I remember it was pretty nice when I installed it... Might want to return them?
Quoted from Elfman:Can't fully confirm since I just got mine but I believe there is a rubber grommet on the top of each. Take those off and I am pretty sure the nuke towers will come off and you can get at the bulbs.
This is correct. Very easy to get to them from the top. I think they are 555 wedge bases, but I haven't looked in a while.
Quoted from Blind_Willie:For those of you that have a Cliffy to protect wear on the Itchy and Scratchy hole -- which version do you have and do you like it? I'm trying to decide between the all metal version, or the clear plastic and metal version.
Metal version here too. I like the metal look, but it's still pretty low profile.
Quoted from southbound:Do the different CBG's then need threaded inserts installed into their feet?
My original CBG didn't have any threaded inserts, they were just screwed into the feet. There is a little microchip sensor in his foot, you can remove it, or leave it in. I replaced CBG and Bart and they were similar to replace. I just drilled new holes in the feet and used a coarse threaded screw (I think I used the same screws they came with). Not a big deal, but CBG is a bit of a pain to take out because you have to remove the miniplayfield and ramp to get to him. Not a huge deal, just time consuming.
Quoted from dug:I have the full Flipper Fidelity speakers in mine. YES, they are worth it.
I have the typical buzzing from the speakers in correlation with the attract mode lightshow. Do you know if the speaker upgrade fixes that issue?
