Has anyone had any issues with the Itchy and Scratchy coil launching directly into the drain? Mine launches directly into the drain 90% of the time. Sometimes I can bump it so it doesn't go right between the flippers, but more often than not it's an instant drain. I've tried cleaning the coil and making sure the mounting is tight, but I'm not sure what else to check.

Quoted from luckymoey:

Anyone know where to buy green inserts for the nuclear side rails and hinges? I’m getting yellow powder coat so need to switch to green. I can always laminate some heavy fluorescent green paper but it would be easier to buy pre-made.

When I paint mine I was planning on just taking the plastic off and spray painting it, if you find something premade I'd love to know where!

I've owned this game close to a year now and never been able to crack 30mil. Occasionally by sheer luck I get up into the 20 mil range, but it's not consistent. I also seem to read a lot about how long the ball times are for people, yet I feel like I'm always draining (my balls last maybe a few minutes at best). Any ideas on how I can go about not sucking at this? As it stands this is probably my least played game now since I just drain constantly.

Quoted from Chalkey:

Where are your outlane posts set? You should be able to top 30M if you can combine couch and itchy and scratchy multiballs and get a few jackpots.

Stealing a photo from another thread:

Mine was at B-3, but I just moved it to the same settings in the photo a couple days ago to see how that goes.

The left outlane is all the way at the bottom.

Quoted from Melhadmj:

My understanding is the wider the gap between posts (I.e. A3) the easier. This allows more room to bump away from outlane and a wider path into the shooters lane, instead of the outlane...

Interesting, I'll try opening them all the way up then. I figured closer together would be easier since it would be a smaller gap for the ball to go through.

What pitch do you guys have your game at?

Following up on me sucking... I just straight up removed the top post haha, I'm having a better time but still finish below 10mil most of the time. I'll keep trying at it to see if I start enjoying the game more now. I also made a shooter rod, which was pretty easy.

Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust how tight the lockdown bar is? Mine is pretty loose, most of my games have two screws on the receiver that you can adjust but TSPP doesn't seem to have those.

Quoted from Spelunk71:

I put a thicker piece of foam on the underside of the lockbar. Made it much tighter.

Cool beans, that was my backup plan. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some super obvious adjustment.

Quoted from Pinstym:

Anyone ever have this happen?
Turn on game. Says 5 balls missing. Starts countdown and shoots some balls out to the pf.
Countdown gets to 0. Game goes into attract mode.
Press start. I think no ball in shooter lane. Left flipper is controlling the drop targets, right flipper moves Homer's head and the itchy scratchy kick out. There is also some weird vibrating sound coming from the boards. Like a pattern.
Weird as hell.
Turn game off. Reseat connector at ball trough (because of the 5 ball missing message). Make sure all connectors in head pushed in. Push on all the chips...the nvram.
Turn game back on. 5 balls missing, etc. But at end of countdown I press start and game starts.
I think all is well. I'm having a good first ball, But all of a sudden a ball gets pushed into shooter lane as I play. Pressing flipper buttons starts to alternate from controlling flippers to controlling the drops and Homer's head like before.
I've never seen anything like this.

I haven't had that specific problem happen, but I did have cracked solder in the pins on my trough opto, which caused it to intermittently work, and kill the rest of the items in that column.

Quoted from Brog319:

Quick question:
I’m looking at possibly buying my first TSPP. While the pin is for sure HUO, it has nearly 5000 plays on it. Should that give me pause or given difficulty of this game, is it less worrisome? I guess what I’m asking is are there plenty of these out there with 5000+ games on them or is that a really high number? Thanks

Mine has 36,000 plays and looks great. Given the age and popularity of this game you'll be hard-pressed to find one with low plays. Also, ignore that backwards nuclear tower plastic. I shopped and replaced rubbers last night and took this picture before I realized it was backwards .

Picked up a TSPP this weekend! It's actually my old TSPP that I sold a couple of years ago, in that short time it has been through quite a lot and needs a full teardown. At least I enjoy doing that kind of thing!

I was cleaning grime off the cabinet and unfortunately lost some paint around the start button, so now I'm considering decaling the whole cabinet. The inside of the cabinet also needs some work so part of me was hoping an empty cab randomly pops up on the market. I do also have an empty AIQ cabinet that I'm wondering if I'd be able to repurpose.
