Joining the party a bit late late, but I picked up my TSPP today. Whoo-hoo! The PF is really dirty and all the rubber needs to be replaced. Besides the stern manual, is there a quick reference for what would be required for a full rubber set? Hopefully I can get it all spiffed up for NWPAS in 2 weeks!

Also, if anybody can give any pointers to playfield teardown or any links to related threads, that would be most appreciated. I searched and came up empty. This machine needs a deep cleaning.

Quoted from Mikedenton49:

If you go with Comet, the Op-Max GI bulbs are nothing short of astonishing. Also, as bright as possible color matched regular inserts with ledocd is the way to go. It works flawlessly.

My experience was to color match except for yellow. I was happier with whites for those inserts.

Strange thing happened on mine a couple of days ago. The "auto" ball save timer decided it would be auto off; meaning the ball saver stopped working all together on auto mode. It has been playing happy with this setting for months. Without any changes or strange events, it just stopped working. Anybody have this happen before? I changed the settings to a static time and it behaves as expected.

hold on you vultures I installed a remote battery holder when I acquired the game. No worries there.

I don't think I was clear; the Freeze Ball setting is not being changed to "off". It is still set to "Auto". HOWEVER, it is behaving as off. This means while set to "Auto" there is no ball save during the start of any ball (multi-balls still has a ball save) This behavior popped out of nowhere after working as expected for months. My scores and settings are completely intact, so it seems unlikely to be a battery issue, correct?

I am curious how the game calculates "Auto" save times and how it can be reset.

Quoted from SpiffyRob:

For anyone following along with trying to install NVRAM: One side is "notched" so you know which way to install it, but the chip I replaced was not itself notched. Every *other* chip was (on the bottom, in my case) but this slowed me down a bit when I went to do it.
But it's done and working perfectly!

If the original RAM chip doesn't have a notch, it has a circle indicating orientation. For reference, the notch or circle should point in the 6 o'clock direction on the main board as it sits in the back box.

Quoted from CoolCatPinball:

I believe my manual says factory setting is "auto". But I keep my sterns on 8 seconds.

For 4.00 and 5.00 code, the default is off.
