Quoted from Fezmid:

I'm going to replace the rubbers in my game but have a question. I bought the kit from Marcos, but the black posts are thicker and shorter in the kit and are rubber vs a hard plastic. Is that going to make much of a difference? The plastic posts in my game are chipping away so I can't really play until I replace.
Followup question: the broken ones come off the post fine, but the non broken ones don't. Any tricks for getting them off the post, aside from breaking them? Lol
[quoted image][quoted image]

You can use the shorter ones but you may not like the look.
I use a small flat blade screw driver or needle nose pliers to remove the post rubbers.

Thanks, I'll try that! And at the very least I can just the shorter ones temporarily until I order the taller ones I guess...

Quoted from Fezmid:

Looks like I must need the piece that isn't in the kit. Not sure if it said that when I ordered and I just missed it (probably) or what, but I guess I need these:
https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/545-5308-00-65

Yes, don’t use the thicker ones. I haven’t had good luck with Marco including the right post sleeves in their kits.

I slip a small flat head screw driver between the bottom of the metal post and post rubber to pry it up a little. Then use needle nose pliers if needed to pull it off. Just be careful not to slip and hit the play field. A squirt of Novus 1 on the top of the post can also help it come off easier.

Yea those are the wrong post sleeves. When i buy them from Titan they have them labeled as "Stern Slim post sleeves". All the kits I have tried to buy from ebay or Marco came with the thick sleeves. I have used them in some spots where the slim posts constantly crack, but the main area where the thick ones are problematic is the lane leading to the left drain. The ball will get stuck there if you use the thick sleeves.

Agreed, and now I think the Titan “Stern slim post sleeve” has been replaced by a “tapered slim sleeve.” I bought some, because I really like choosing my own colors for the Stern post sleeves, and they are definitely tapered. They still fit, and fit better than the short, fat Bally/Williams ones, but why tapered?

I found that out the hard way too. Here are pics I posted earlier in the thread:

My understanding is to prevent airballs. If Vid says so, it's most likely true https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/tapered-post-sleeve#post-4389798

1 year after seeing the tip I finally came to it during some maintenance and cleaning light: I swapped the entrance gate with the Moe sign for better look.

Played an extensive game and found no difference. And ofcourse if you have a very slow ball which only goes a few centimeter up the ramp you can have the situation where entrance gate would be triggered against now not.

To me, THIS is the number one "mod" on this machine. It greatly improves the look, can be done by a novice, and is absolutely FREE. This should be the first mod every new owner does, IMHO.

I was totally unaware of this. Painfully obvious once you see it, but can't say I would have thought to do that. Thanks for sharing!

I'm going to do it right now!

Thanks a lot, Ill do it tonight

Great idea! Swapping mine tonight too. Never occurred to me. Big improvement.

#4865 4 years ago

Yep. Did that a while back. Total gimme mod.

Quoted from Scandell:

Just joined the club!! It’s my first pin! Prestine. One owner. Has the pink car on the playfield, not the red.[quoted image]

Anyone know the reason behind them having two different colors? Just different manufactures? Colors faded?

#4867 4 years ago

I did two mods tonight. See the before and after pictures. MOE sign Light mod and TV mod. Now seeing relocation of MOE sign, will do that too.

I've had SPP about a month so far - Bought a great example, and we're all having fun with it. It's nearly perfect but for one thing - My machine came with an extra feature - A message on Comic Book Guy's shirt. "You are worst player ever" - credible, but no original. A replacement figure was $95 and out of stock - but

....No worries - my son found out that all of the figures on the playfield were actually sourced from toy companies - Stern couldn't afford the licenses. It's the same reason there's no Marge voice, he says - too expensive to license. So Ebay+Thrift Shop+$10 later, and...I'm ready to go.

However my family likes the message on the shirt, so I'm holding off on the surgery.

I have an extra CBG with "Worst Pinball Ever" on his shirt. I replaced him with the "Collector" CBG superhero figure. If you are interested, message me. Sounds like you may be all set though!

Did you take any other pictures?

Are there any electronics in the retail figure itself or are they in the comic book shop "environment". I wonder how it is activated? rfid or a magnetic reed switch or normal switch that the character pushes down?

Hi all

Has anyone ever put the couch weldment bracket in ? How does it go ? I need to replace the nyliner plastic ring that the plunger goes thru and I just noticed I need that as well.

Looks like I need to take the ramp off the get to things.....

Thanks for any help.

Is anyone making the garage door mod anymore? Thanks.

#4881 4 years ago

I just picked up the machine and it played great for a few days then the ball stopped kicking up to the upper playfield. Coils 6, 12 and 13 won’t work. They are the VUK and upper flippers. I suck as a technician and both of mine are older so there’s no way they’ll be coming over anytime soon. Does anyone have an idea to troubleshoot? I’ve attached a link to the

Definitely Notice the Difference

When you turned the audio back up, did it sound less distorted? I know the samples are low quality, but seems like there’s some of the distortion that’s akin to an amp cranked at full blast. Curious if this mod helps with that.

The Standing Hum seems lower

Yes the audio wasn’t the highest of quality
I set Background to 1 and Volume to 13

I’m happy with the results
For only 4$ to make the clips

Figured why not

Quick question:

I’m looking at possibly buying my first TSPP. While the pin is for sure HUO, it has nearly 5000 plays on it. Should that give me pause or given difficulty of this game, is it less worrisome? I guess what I’m asking is are there plenty of these out there with 5000+ games on them or is that a really high number? Thanks

Condition will always be KING

Mine was previously routed like many but looked amazing for being routed plus the price was I feel at steal at 3600$

Use your judgement and it’s a terrific game

Mine has 36,000 plays and looks great. Given the age and popularity of this game you'll be hard-pressed to find one with low plays. Also, ignore that backwards nuclear tower plastic. I shopped and replaced rubbers last night and took this picture before I realized it was backwards .
