The Lamp Stand Flasher Covers are now available. Pinside shops, sparkypinball.com, or mezelmods.com $39 + shipping.

I like the lamp!

Here's a mock up for my topper, backbox and speaker panel idea. Been struggling for a year to figure out a topper and then the tv idea hit me. I think it is gonna look cool! Planning vinyl sticker for speaker panel and backbox and a window cling for translite. Not sure for antenna but that seems pretty easy...
Thoughts? Opinions?

Wow nice gc. I don't think I could get that much on 5 ball.

#3404 6 years ago

Ha, me neither... I just googled that pic for mockup, not my machine.

I'm a fan of this. That could look really cool! If the price was right I would be all over it.

Agreed. That looks cool...

Such an amazing game. I glad I was able to grab one of these.

Color matched LED’s (comet pinball)
2 extra spotlights (comet pinball)
LED strip behind the upper playfield (comet pinball)
LED OCD (comet pinball)
LCD Color DMD (color DMD)
Mirror blades (pinballsidemirrors.com)
Pinstadium (pinstadium.com)

All I’ve got left to do is swap out the rubbers for some glow in the darks and I think I’ll be totally set. I’d like any recommendations for mods or advice on the game itself.

Check out my YouTube channel for a little video I made last night showing the LED’s in action. I’ll get a really nice video tonight of the pinstadium lighting going wild. I have it attached to the nuclear power plant flashers.

nice cc, I would recommend the full cliffy protector set. Also I think you need the itchy and scratch one. Can't remember who makes that.

Yes, get the Cliffy set.

#3411 6 years ago

I went to Signs Now to get an estimate today. The cling for the translite was $27 but the speaker panel and backbox sections were $60! I can get that down a little by making it a little smaller, I had lots of bleed. Priced by square foot. So I went to Kinkos thinking that would be cheaper but it was $150. Even though a previous owner did a crappy black spray paint touch up, I still hate to paint it, seems too permanent.
Anyone have a cheaper or better idea?

#3412 6 years ago

I reworked the artwork and shaved a square foot off of each lowering the print cost to $65.25.
Made a topper yesterday in about 30 min and around $10. Would like to find something a little better for the "metal" part of it but it's not bad (IMHO).

Did a little test printing on paper at work today, just partial speaker panel but I'm digging it and will be ordering tomorrow!
Can't decide if purple should wrap around over t molding or not. I'll probably wrap it and trim it off if I don't like it.

This is my first time trying to remove the upper playfield. This pin connector on the TV seems pretty difficult to dislodge. I don't want to break it or damage it. Are there clips underneath the connector? Do I need a special tool to help lift clips etc.?

Tips greatly appreciated.

#3416 6 years ago

It pulls out away from the tv, not up. It should be tight. No clips.

I had to replace the couch bracket and fix a switch so I removed the upper playfield....but I don't remember disconnecting the tv....

#3418 6 years ago

I have had mine off recently. The connector pulls right out. There are 3 black knobs that hold the playfield down. It's relatively easy to remove.

#3419 6 years ago

Thanks guys. I got it off but DAMN it was on there tight! Must never have been removed before.

Now to start clipping zip ties on the bottom......

Turned out great! That's all cling? Did you wrap the side of the head, too?

#3423 6 years ago

Thanks! No, just cling on the glass. The rest is adhered, the stuff they wrap cars with. Really easy to work with, i could pull it off and on easily. I didn't do the sides, trimmed to the outside of the t molding.

#3424 6 years ago

A great mod. I am surprised nobody ever did this.

#3425 6 years ago

That's sweet

Now you need a color dmd bad. It's the best mod for TSPP.

#3428 6 years ago

I had one, just broke it working on leds!

#3429 6 years ago

A color display, however you do it, is needed.

#3430 6 years ago

This is amazing. I’d be in for one if you make any.

#3431 6 years ago

Vader77 can you post pics of the whole machine, i love that idea

#3435 6 years ago

Are you taking orders? I'd buy it for mine.

#3436 6 years ago

I have to admit, when you first posted I thought it would look kinda corny but DAYUHM was I wrong. That's really clever!

#3437 6 years ago

Thanks! I can't decide if I want to sell them or just share the plans. Looks like 3 of you are interested. Who else would want to buy one? Price would be $100 or less... help me decide!

#3438 6 years ago

I can’t seem to find how to reset rules in the settings back to default anyone know where it is?

#3439 6 years ago

Installs; factory.

Providing to france would surely kill the budget.. So plans are welcome

I got this framed sailboat art on Amazon. You can get it without the frame, too, for about $8 + shipping.

My latest maintenance question of the day.... :/

This is the gate/microswitch assembly on the left ramp, right next to the Comic Book guy. Trying to remove the ramp, but can't figure out a way to disconnect this switch. Hole drilled in ramp is too small to get switch through.

What am I missing?

Sorry to be a PITA, but I bought a Coin Taker LED kit, and getting to some of the bulbs is an even bigger PITA. Decided to clean the whole playfield since I am digging around in here. An unfortunate mix of type-A and OCD left me no choice.

Disconnect the wires from the connector under the playfield. Do this for anything you need to remove and mark the connectors to avoid confusion during reassembly.

Search for pinsider sparky, he has it. Mezel might have it too.

#3447 6 years ago

I replaced a lot of the gi bulbs under the ramps and hard to get to places from under the playfield.

#3448 6 years ago

Thanks again guys. I looked under the playfield and I could have swore the wires went into a big bundle and not a small connector. The second inspection I found the small connector.

I did see that the bulbs could be replaced from underneath, but since I was cleaning the whole field it made it a little easier. I just hope I don’t have a bunch of leftover mystery screws, nuts, and bolts when I’m done putting this back together.

Yes, you can buy through my Pinside shop, my website (sparkypinball.com), or Mezelmods.com. Doesn't matter where you buy, it all ships from me

Hello all. Bought my TSPP from a very good friend who was moving about 2 and half years ago. There were about 100 games on it and he bought it NIB. I helped him pack it back in the original box with the original foam packaging. It was a bit of a puzzle, but we managed it.He decided to sell it to me for $4000, and it was one of the best purchases I have ever made.
Since then I have made quite a few changes to it:
LEDs for inserts,GI,and flashers
Back panel and trough lighting
6 additional spot reflector lights mounted to posts
LED OCD board
Interactive under-cabinet lighting tied to all the flashers
All Cliffy products for the game
All plastic protectors
Playfield protector
Color DMD
Colored rings and post sleeves
Side panel, back panel ,and speaker decals by sillyoldelf (the best out there)
4 toys- schoolbus,Nelson Muntz, and Kang, and alien saucers

I love this game and do not think I will ever willingly part with it. I was offered $5600 for it, but just could not sell it.

I have periodically had issues with the garage door drooping and cannot make the garage rampshot. I have mainly tried to keep all the surfaces clean of the mysterious black dust in these machines- but just read that some recommend a little stronger solenoid. Has this proven to be the best solution for this issue?
Thanks in advance and hopefully a member of the club in good standing
