I am experimenting with mine. It came with a partial Cointaker kit in it. Cool white mostly. Cool blues etc.

I had some Comet LEDs lying around so I started to experiment. I might prefer warm white for this game. In fact, I think I prefer warm white, frosted lens for all my games.

(please note, Comet makes a distinction between warm, natural and cool white)

Back of game is Comet Warm White. Front of game is Cointaker cool white.

Here are some pics.

Simpson's TV Mod is absolutely amazing!!! Probably the best pinball mod ever made!
Tree house and TV Mod from Sparky are an absolute must for this game.

I am picking up a tspp this weekend and want to get leds in it by the super bowl so I want to get some leds before I get it. I will probably do mostly white bulbs. Does it take mostly wedge or bayonette bulbs? Any must have colors for any of the inserts? Thanks in advance. Also, it has lollipop side rails that are just the standard black, do they make decals for the yellow nuclear look?

#3305 6 years ago

Both
Wedge is all of the inserts.50+
Bayonet for all gi. 40+
Flashers are wedge as well.
It takes a lot of bulbs. It's always better to buy more then not have enough.

I picked up a tspp and have a question. When you lock balls on the couch but never get to multiball, are the locked balls supposed to exit the couch at the end of a game? They do not on mine and the locks carry over to the next game.

#3307 6 years ago

Settings. All depending on the difficulty setting in the menus. My first TSPP I had did not carry over so it was alot tougher. When I bought my current TSPP the setting was already on and I had the same question. I left the feature on. I get way more couch multiballs now.

You're under arrest!
For whaat?

#3308 6 years ago

I think with the setting it only carries locks on 1p games I could be mistaken.

We'll see about THAT. Come on!!!

Hi guys new in da club, funcional machine but will have to shop it to make it play well and look good.
Anybody could share decal files for the targets, garagedoor and such that I could print at home ?

Also I need a couch plastic but since I have a 3d printer maybe I could just give it a try and print it. Same here if someone has a 3d file that would be great, otherwise I will see if I can do the design myself

Going to powder coat the outside and wire forms looking for suggestions on best colors to use. I was thinking of doing simpson yellow on wire forms and simpson red on the outside.

#3312 6 years ago

Love the Pearl Pink and Sky Blue.

Hahahahaha! That was funny, but your right. That's what happens when you fix pinball machines in the living room. I get more time with my family that way. Also your TSPP is sweet! Thats a nice yellow.

Thanks brother. If cleaning was the only thing we had to do life would be alot less stressful. I like the color combo of pink and blue.

Not a fan of the green so much.

Simpson's is a great game it deserves the powder treatment.

What is the best setup/adjustment for a bar location, Im trying to make the games last longer with more ball saves, what best setup?

Maybe increase the amount of "Freeze Time", which is the ball save at the beginning of a turn.

Are your outlane posts in the factory configuration? I find that to be a pretty friendly setup but they can be moved to make the game easier or harder. The manual has diagrams.

#3319 6 years ago

The outlanes are brutal in the stock configuration. You can move them to retain the ball in play a bit longer. The left one in particular is the one I would adjust first..

#3320 6 years ago

“Freeze time” will increase the automatic ballsaves? The setting are a little more confusing then the newer sterns for me. I will also adjust the posts! Thank you.

I wonder if move have non standard sized rings or something cuz it's the friendliest outlanes on any of my games.

If any of you guys have custom titan setups on your tspp post me some pics! Getting ready to order some rubber and thinking about doing some stuff with colors.

#3323 6 years ago

As of today I'm back out of the club. Sold my beautiful Simpson's pinball party to a great guy in California. Last time I sold my Simpson's it bothered me so much 4 months later I bought another one. I absolutely love this game unfortunately I need the space 3 out for 3 in. Somehow I have a feeling I will be back in the club "again" in the near future. Good part of selling a game is the new people you meet. This guy has been collecting for years. I will let him announce his new purchase himself after he receives his new game.
Very happy the game is going to a great home.
Congrats on your purchase.

#3324 6 years ago

thank you much ASOA agreed great people in this hobby. I am looking forward to getting TSPP back and officially joining the club for the second and last time. Once this baby comes home I won’t ever let go Lol. Tspp was the first pin I had ever bought and I regretted it instantly once I sold it. Had some life changing situations come up and had to move to a place with no room for pins. Finally getting TSPP back. In my opinion one of the best games of all time. Thank you again ASOA. By the way if you are looking for some top quality pins check out his Ads ,man that Spider-Man is amazing wish I had the money for another pin right now.

I agree. My freeze time is off. I've been complaining of not getting saves for almost a year. None of my other sterns are like this. Today just to test, I soft plunged a ball to let it fall straight down to the flippers and drain and sure enough no ball save. I need to find out what the difference is in freeze time between AUTO and setting it for a determined amount of time. I can only assume that setting a time is the amount of time that you have before the save times out?

I wouldn't exactly call mine custom. But I went with all pink Titan flipper, shooter tip, and translucent rings for the slings.

Where do you get the pink rubbers from? Are they the same style as super bands?

I get all of my rubber from Titan Pinball. They are the competition silicone rings. Superbands are polyurethane.

Thanks for the recommendation, the freeze time did the trick.

I replaced all my rubbers with Titan and they work great. I have a kit setup on their website with a video showing them off. https://www.titanpinball.com/kits/index.php/view/id/638

This is the base kit I was going to order with a few changes. I was hoping to see a few different options around itchy, Bart and the upper pf. Thinking about purple around the ramp and Bart to match the pf, green for the upper pf and I'm not sure about itchy yet.

I just ordered a playfield protector for my tspp. You guys have any pro tips for installation? Was it a PITA? I've had the upper playfield out before but this should be a little more extensive.

#3335 6 years ago

I dont have any tips, but be patient.

#3336 6 years ago

Yes, patience and take pics prior to disassembly.

#3337 6 years ago

I started noticing an upper playfield left flipper issue. Whenever I press the left flipper the upper flipper flips fine. However, when I get the ball to the upper playfield the flipper barely moves when the ball rolls by it. It makes it almost impossible to get the ball to the couch. Any tips on what it be? Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

#3338 6 years ago

I'd first check and make sure your upper playfield is on and seated correctly. If it's not, the upper playfield flipper bushing can become tight and make it hard for the flipper to move. Additionally, you could have a broken bushing or your ready for a flipper rebuild kit.

Definitely check those bushings. I had something similar where it seemed to flip just fine but the bushing was robbing all its power. Just loosened up the shaft a little under the playfield, made sure the bushing wasn't running, and it was back to normal.

#3340 6 years ago

Anybody know where I can get the clear plastic that goes over the top of the right orbit? Do I need it?

Also, if I remember correctly, the back left bolt (the table is sitting on) had a washer. If your missing the washer the table won't sit correctly. Maybe all 3 bolts have washers. I'm not sure, but I had problems with the back left.

#3342 6 years ago

Thanks for the tips with the upper play field flipper, I will check those this weekend and hopefully be able to resolve the issue.

I would try a factory reset first. Maybe the rom is bad?

Question for the community- Has anyone done a pinsound re-orchestration for TSPP? Can't seem to find one anywhere.

#3349 6 years ago

Probably the ONLY easily obtained replacement plastics for TSPP.

It would be awesome if the original callouts were still around somewhere in a high quality format. Without that I'm not sure how much help a PinSound board would be - the sounds in the code are highly compressed and sound awful.
