Compared to what? A new ramp?

It wasn't much more to buy a new ramp...
Quoted from RandomTask:Installed some Cliffys today. Had one broken ramp and one cracked ramp. Problem solved! Really impressed with Cliffys products. Costly though. [quoted image]

My ramps are perfect but I wanna protect them anyways. I have the ramp protector set but so far have only installed the Moe's (right ramp) Cliffy. I imagine the garage and Treehouse require more disassembly.

For the Treehouse ramp, I took the upper playfield 'off' and slide it to the side. I didn't take the connectors off. I used needle nose pliers from the metal couch ramp to grab the nut... It was annoying compared to Moe's ramp but not too bad for a guy who has no idea what he's doing.
Then with the upper playfield to the other side, I started on the garage ramp. It took some figuring, but I eventually took it off completely which took some twisting and giggling.

Marco had some but they are in and out of stock super fast.
Installed a PinSound in my TSPP yesterday. Really like that I can EQ the stock mix, but looking forward to helping out Scandell with his custom mix!
It’s a pricy addition, for sure, but worth it if you fancy yourself an audiophile.
Between PinSound, ColorDMD, and LED OCD, I’m out of room in my backbox now
Hi all,
Just picked up TSPP over the weekend....got everything working but wondering if anyone knows why this board is in here? Also, appears there is a wire connector ready for this. IMG_3309 (resized).JPG I've seen a few pics of other machines and don't see this in the back box. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Greg

Thats a head scratcher. Thats an aux board for magnet drivers. There are no magnets in TSPP. Way back in the day, I remember seeing UK versions of TSPP that had controllable outlane (posts?)- I recall... Maybe those versions of TSPP used this board to control them. I have had several TSPP, and this board has never been in any of them.
EDIT- I looked through my old pics... I had one of these on one of my Chuck E Cheese machines. I am guessing it may have been the interface for the ticket dispenser, because that machine had a huge ticket dispenser in it as well.

Gotcha. Sometime I'll have to try that out.
Quoted from DocRotCod:Stern has an updated, stronger coil they recommend for the garage door. I did it on mine and it completely solved this issue. New coil sleeve at the same time is a good idea.
Dealing with a saggy garage door and noticed this post. The manual on Stern’s website shows a 26-1200 coil for this mech. Is that the “updated, stronger” coil or the original?
Added over 4 years ago:Found the answer in the thread - 24-940 coil. (Out of stock at Marco.) In the meantime I taped a washer to the underside of the garage door where the plunger hits, so the door opens further now. Problem solved, at least for now.
Hi all,
I have an issue that is now haunting me. Upper right flipper coil engaged when turning on. I replaced the coil just in case (although nothing checked out wrong with the original). I replaced the transistor (Q14). Did not fix the issue. With the driver board out of the machine I'm still getting a ground at the specific connector pin for this particular flipper so its likely before the transistor. What else can I check?

Quoted from insight75:Thank you. I didn’t realize that was in the Manual! Awesome.
You're welcome! Now, my turn to ask a few questions... I just added a TSPP to my collection and have found two things to address so far:
1) There is a screw/washer in the Bus Tour loop near the end, is this supposed to be here?
Is this screw/washer suppose to be here?
The TV works fine until the GI dims, when it gets screwy. As soon as the GI comes back on it's fine again. I have reseated the connectors but no change. Any advice?
*UPDATED*. I found the thread (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/tspp-tv-issues) that shows the culprit as U206 - chip MM74HCT273N2 on the driver board. I'll replace that and report back...

Thanks, @shbr20. It must be to misdirect and slow the ball down so it doesn't shoot through the saucer at the end of the loop.

Thanks! Installed and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I didnt think my Garage ramp was broken, but ive never really looked too close at it and didnt have too many issues with missing the shot. However, this protector shows how wrong I was. I should have bought these a long time ago.
Thanks again!
For everyone else, if you dont have cliffy protectors, buy them now!

(Gross i need to clean my playfield)
Mine was busted the same way. I took the broken piece and epoxied it back in place and the Cliffy strengthens the repair.

mine has no piece. I bought it off a route, its very possibly i vacuumed it up when i cleaned it out 2 years ago, but who knows. I was thinking molding something over the exposed cliffy may be a good idea. I should have looked at it before, but since i was making the shot majority of the time i didnt think much about it, even though i knew it was a common issue.
I went a bit mod crazy the other day on my machine. My garage ramp was slightly broke. But it’s fixed now with the cliffy.

No pic of the TV?
Quoted from D-Gottlieb:Where did you get the shooter sticker?
Tilt Graphics makes those. They're more than a decal. They're laser etched and multi-layered.

My apologies, I thought I had posted it. I posted them from my cell phone. The TV mod is fantastic! Great job on this!

Yes what Sparky said. I got it from tilt graphics. it's not a decal. Really makes the machine pop.
Question for those with side blades. Is there any modifications you have to do to the inside of the cabinet in order to get the blades to sit flush? I noticed 2 small wood blocks that appear to be stapled to the inside that prevent it from sitting flush.

I had to remove those blocks to put in mirror blades. They are just stapled in so use a flat bat to pry it off.

I didnt research this before I put them on, but it also depends which blades you have. The ones from Europe, I forgot he guys name, you are supposed to cut the end of the blade strip around the wooden blocks. If you search there is a post about it somewhere. he gives directions. you take a sharp knife and cut the blade to fit the blocks.
Can someone please detail the proper behavior of the couch release? What I'm getting is on multiball, 2 balls release quickly....then the third. I have a feeling this is not right with each dropping a few seconds between. Also, if I have 2 balls locked...and a third goes in (with no lock yet on)...2 balls drop (instead of 1). I have been playing with this for a while now. I installed the support behind the coil as well as the nylon bushing. All seems smooth.
Thanks,
Greg

Should be one at a time. Are you sure that the plunger that runs under the couch is all the way in?
Despite mine having the couch weld fix, I had to zip tie that replacement bracket in place, as the coil would rotate the bracket. This caused the coil work itself further and further back. When that happened, I had issues like you mention.
Take a pic from above the couch looking directly down into the hole the ball drops though. It should stick out about this much.
01099A8A-98BC-41AE-8B0D-6E83E6F78576 (resized).jpegJust did the test a few times. The coil definitely holds open too long and another ball goes through quickly. If I change coil power to soft it works fine. Not sure I should leave it that way though as it may effect other things.
Edit: Nope.....I couldn't even get a ball to load using the soft setting.
Only other things that come to mind are alignment and whether the sleeve is dirty. if that doesn't fix it, perhaps the spring is worn out.
It definitely should slide with minimal effort and return to the extended position quickly.
Fixed it. I bent the black piece back a little bit....(the part on the Bottom of the pic holding front of ball) and this did the trick. Thanks!
BIG thank you all those on this forum and those who reached out to me in PM. Turns out the two small blocks in the back of my machine were stapled and glued in. Once I got them out, mirror blades slid right in.
Man this game looks great now with the mirror blades!
