Love this game, picked it up a month or so ago and i can't stop playing it. I've only managed to lock 4 out of 5 balls on Alien Invasion. I haven't collected all the kids for pretzel multiball, and haven't started Scratchy's Revenge. This machine is so deep, i love it.

Quoted from jalpert:

The worst part about TSPP is finding a decent deal on one that needs help, rebuilding 5 flippers sucks
Other than that, it's a pretty crazy good game. I wish there was a little more incentive to play the modes. I play the duff mode every time because 10 ramps shots is an extra ball, but it's too easy to skip them to get to AI.
The level of strategy is beyond any other pinball. The voice acting, the art, all top notch. Once you dial in the VUK to the mini and the stronger coil int he garage the game is super solid.
Great game.

Dialing in the VUK is huge. The switch in mine was somewhat weak, it wouldn't always register and sometimes would take a bit before it would launch the ball. Now that i installed a new switch, there's almost no wait time, the ball is on the upper playfield instantly. I also added the stronger coil in the garage, but i notice that sometimes if the ball gets in the way while the door is opening, it'll sag a bit until it closes and re-opens.

Quoted from Bif:

I have it on the lowest volume setting, and even in normal play it is louder than I would like, but when you hit AI/etc. the volume bump is insane and makes me worry about waking everyone up and I get nervous and suck a bit. This is the only complaint I can think of with TSPP as of now. Going to try getting the V5.00 ROMS soon, hope this fixes it, but I doubt it.

Service menu > Adjustments menu > Feature Adjustments > Allow Volume Effects > No

Where do you get the V5.00 ROMS ? ...and what's the difference?
I think I have v4.0 in mine.
thx,
bb

If you have v4.00, these are the changes below, if you have a different version, just google TSPP Roms and you'll see a thread where this info came from.

Changes from Game ROM v4.00
---------------------------
- *** THIS GAME ROM REQUIRES DISPLAY VERSION 5.00 OR HIGHER. ***
- Mystery award no longer gives the same award back-to-back in competition
mode.
- Mystery award no longer lights extra ball if one was already lit.
- Mystery award no longer lights special if one was already lit.
- Kwik-E-Mart standup now changes digits correctly in competition mode.
- HSTD Reset now also resets Grand Champion (there is now no way to manually
erase the non-grand-champion scores, they will reset themselves only on
the HSTD Reset Count adjustment). This is to address not being able to
change the default grand champion score.
- If an Otto award gets stacked in the display queue, it will now show the
correct shot that was doubled (previously it would generally always show
upper playfield at 2x scoring if it was queued).
- Homer's TV-lit speech now takes priority over Krusty's quotes again, and
will also be heard if the display effect doesn't get to run.
- TV start effects now stack after combo and other awards.
- Couch lock and multiball start animations now stack after combo and other
awards.
- Major award events (e.g. TV mode start, Otto award, Treehouse awards) now
only hold up the device they are associated with, not all kicking devices.
- Combo awards now awarded before anything else on a given shot.
- Itchy and Scratchy eject now double-checks to make sure the targets are
actually down before trying to eject the ball. It also waits until any
drop target reset process is complete before kicking.
- Otto eject now has more low-power kick table entries.
- Couch multiball start lamp effect now called from the display effect.
- Couch multiball start lamp effect now goes away properly if the start
display effect is blown off.
- New U.S. default pricing, 1/.75, 3/$2.00

Just had a few drinks and jammed on some TSPP. Man I love this game. So much to do. I was one shot away from alien invasion and one hurry up away from the comic guy's mini wiz mode... (which is what exactly?)

Secret Stash

#102 10 years ago
Quoted from scottslash:

Yeah, starting Secret Stash isn't too bad. Finishing it is a little harder. To finish Secret Stash (if you didn't know) you have to hit 10 hurry ups. I've finished a few times now, but like almost every feature, it can be very frustrating. I've also fallen short at 9... like 3 times now. When you collect one, it extinguishes. Hitting the CBG lights them all back up. Points can be pretty lucrative. Have fun!

I didn't say that

Ooops, sorry, domijr ! I quoted from wrong place!

hehe, no worries, just bugging ya, i see what happened.

Bump for a great game

#126 10 years ago

4295$ on the price is right

What you guys pay for yours back in the day brand new? I have the original bill of sale from the previous owner and he paid 3895$.

#128 10 years ago

Crazy how they were all saying around 2000$ and then she says 1$ lol. No pin heads there obviously, just maybe a few "flippers "

#131 10 years ago
Quoted from meSz:

I feel good now as I paid 4400 for a HUO machine with 26 plays on it!

26 plays? Whoever bought that brand new and only played 26 times before selling it was crazy. I wouldn't go by that number though, cause you can easily pull a battery out and you'll have zero plays on it

4400$ is a great price. I paid 4800$ here in canada

#154 10 years ago

Don't forget to hit the skateboard to keep the mode going, if you're running out of time

Quoted from retired_user_101:

i like the color-changing LED's in the nuke towers. very cool.
is that just a special bulb replacement or something more complex?
thx,
bb

That isn't mine in the video, but i also have color changing LED's. It's just an LED, nothing complex.
