Quoted from xtravgiza:

But would you stay at 4K?

buy it

#52 69 days ago

I guarantee that if you put the sellers info up in this forum, at 4k it would be sold in minutes. Unless it's on fire, condition won't matter.

Yeah, from those pics I would buy it

At 4k I would buy it for sure without caring much if it’s HUO or not. TSPP is built like a tank, there is some wear but nothing dramatic and at 4k it’s quite a bargain.

Then if you can put more money, 1500$ more will get you a much cleaner version.

Based on the pics would you say the condition is (1-10)?[quoted image]

5 out of 10

Good to know but I’d hate to see a 3 out of 10.

What are some of the key things to look for even at this price range?

Yep. A 3 out of 10 is awful. That’s kinda how a 10 point scale works. Haha

Boards. Inspect them closely. Battery alkaline damage on the main board would be bad news bears. Broken ramps. Outgassing dmd, bad mini dmd, weak or sloppy flippers. Non responsive pops, non working homer head. Broken plastics, non working garage door. Non working itchy and scratchy switch. Non working drop targets.

Also, non-working VUK for the garage-to-upper-PF. If you look through this thread, that's definitely on the "greatest hits" for things to go wrong with this pin. Easy fix, tho. Just soldered one in on mine today, in fact.

The other one not mentioned above is the couch weld fix. Again, search this thread for it.

Good news is Pinball Life has both and they're inexpensive.

I bought this last summer and couldn't be happier with it. No wear around flipper or start buttons, legit HUO. After I replaced the rubbers and gave it a waxing it was like playing a new pin.

The pin you linked looks like my first TSPP. Originally bought it shopped from Got Pinball for $4,500 in 2017. It played ok but looked and felt kind of crusty for my taste so I sent it to HEP.

I would hold out for better deal on this one.

Never noticed how horrible the art quality was on my machine.
I got it NIB.

That's on purpose. Makes the main characters and logo stand out. I love the art and whole package on this game. Got mine NIB too and regret trading it, all the time.

It’s not your machine it’s how they designed it. There are some replacement decals that don’t have that blur on the background but I think it makes the side art too crowded.

I know it’s how they made it , I Unboxed it.
I just forgot how poor the resolution was
I guess Gary said fuck it ,just blow up that image and who cares how pixelated it is....
It’s only the side of the machine ....

I hear ya. BART does pop. From a short distance it looks good. Upon close inspection (looking for flipper wear) it’s another story.
I would cry if mine looked like the pics posted by OP.
Didn’t Odin call it “damage from players with a jack off flipper technique”

FYI: Per IPDB, Matt Groening’s team did the cabinet and back glass art.
