During a game last night it seems that the fuse for the right living room flipper blew. Oddly enough, when this happened the game did a complete factory reset. No high scores or anything.

I wanted to know if this kind of thing is unusual. I don't know why the fuse blew yet. The coil tests at 11 ohms. Haven't tested the transistor or diode yet, but everything looks good. From what I have read, it seems that fuses normally don't blow without a reason. There has been some "monkey flipping" recently, but not a lot.

Any ideas or starting points would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to spend a few hours looking for the wrong cause.

Thanks!

If I tested the transistor correctly (followed the instructions I found on the forum ), get .22 on the outside pins and zero on the middle. It seems the transistor is good.

Also, I cannot find if the 3 amp fuse is a fast or slo blow.

Ok, just retested the transistor. It tests to .022 (on the outer pins), while the others test to around .5. So, bad transistor.

Does that generally mean that the transistor goes, and that in turn caused the fuse to blow?

I will replace the fuse and transistor. Is there anyplace else I should look for trouble, or do transistors just sometimes go bad? I guess I should remove the coil and double check it and the diode.

Thanks again!

Even if the coil tests OK?
