EOS are touching on mine by default. Here's some good info given to me by pinballx:

To summarize, newer pinballs (including TSPP) do not require an EOS, although it does still exist. You can change your flipper linkage so that the switch opens (it is normally closed on Sterns), but unless a ball hits an engaged flipper really hard (not really possible on TSPP) which would cause the high voltage circuit to fire the coil again, it won't make any difference. No fried coils or transistors, unless you keep those switches open -- which is why many people just leave them alone. A common "noob" mistake is to open the switches like on older Williams/Bally machines, which eventually can fry a coil or (more likely) a transistor.
