I bought a Simpsons game and it doesn't have the backglass key? In reading about backglass keys someone listed the key number for another game, just curious if anyone knows the key number for the The Simpsons Pinball Party? Also if anyone has a lead where to get said key that would be awesome also. Just ordered a new cam lock just in case this doesn't work but the game is 100% and would prefer to keep the original lock if possible.

Is the key hanging on a hook on the inside of the coin door or somewhere inside the cabinet?

Have you lifted up the playfield to see if it happened to fall somewhere?

There's no way to tell what key was actually used since it could have been changed at any point during its life by an operator or former owner. The lock generally has no identifying marks.

Well, you need to get in there and check/replace the batteries. So, look on the lock and see if there are security screws the hold lock plate in. On WPC games, you can just remove the whole plate and then remove the lock without drilling. Not sure on Stern games but it's worth a shot. Security bits can be found inexpensively at Harbor Freight and other local tool stores.

Change those batteries!

If there are no external screws for the mounting plate, I would just drill the lock out. It's super easy. Should literally take you 30 seconds. Then replace the lock for about $3.00.

Thank you all for the advice. There are 4 screws on the bolt that I can take it out. That is my next step then replace it with the new lock. Just thought I would ask before taking a screwdriver to it!

I had the same issue with my game missing the back box key and just took the 4 Torx security bolts off to replace the entire assembly with this:

You most likely aren't going to be able to find a replacement key, but this is basically OEM.

This is exactly what I ordered! I am going to do this when it comes in.

Thank you!
