I'm in the midst of restoring my first machine: a System 11 JOKERZ!. The board has some old repairs that I would like to clean up. Im not entirely clear on what is going on with this transistor. I would appreciate any input on the proper way to clean this up nicely. It looks like the middle lead is attaching to a trace on the back and the other two are attaching to traces on the front.

looks like the original pads have blown out or been accidentally removed in previous repair. They have simply scratched off some solder resist and soldered directly to the trace hehe.

if its still working, i wouldn't touch it.....

It just kinda looks like shit and if I resell this I don't like the idea of leaving it like that.

Since the pads are gone there's nothing you can do to make that not look like shit. I'd leave it alone if it's working.

Here's my Jokerz Q31. Yours looks pretty good!

Wow, that's crazy. Is there something up specifically with Q31?

I agree. If it works, leave it.

That is too funny! Thanks for the laugh this sunday morning. Glad both of your machines are still working.
