Been in process on trying to remove the dreaded hum/buzz that has plagued Data East machines. I have recapped the power driver board as well as the sound board and it's still there. Came across a thread where some have wired in an auxiliary power supply to power the sound board from and it has seemed to work.

I am trying to understand the pinout from the auxiliary supply in terms of where the wires need to go to properly wire into the sound board. See the attached pics...the sound board has a ground pin...is this missing from the power supply? Would the ground be the COM pin in this set up?

Any thoughts? Do I need a different type of power supply?

Thanks for your help!
Jim

Quoted from Tuukka:

Yes, the COM pin on power supply connects to GND on sound board, +5V to +5V and then you need to find out which of V2 / V3 is +12V or -12V and connect them respectively.

Great! That’s what I though but the COM pin confused me because I saw another similar power supply that had an actual GND pin. Thank you!
