hello,

I'm trying to get my friends riverboat gambler working.

the MPU has acid damage so i put in a rottendog board.
now all the lights are working and the game kind of responds in Test Mode but will not go into game mode.

something is up with the diverter coil.
it locks and then smokes... but then stops locking on. i think its just really corroded.

any advice?

thanks,

mike

The coil problem sounds like a bad transistor

You may be right about the transitor.
But I find that a band transistor will usually lock the coil until it totally fries it.

This coil just gets stuck for a second, over heats and then releases.

I will look into the transistors today.

I know you have one, But I have a system 11c mpu out of a riverboat and its working 100% no acid at all. Also have a full set of ramps if need be.

hello,

i have swapped out the Power Supply Board and Aux Board from a different game and with no change.
i tested the voltage on the rottendog MPU and 5 volts is fine but on the 18 volt tester i am getting a little less then 17 volts.
could this be the issue?

also, the give suffered some water damage. i don't think it effected the back box but the wood by the coin door is messed up.

the game is still not booting up. all lights are working and game will enter test mode.
there still is the issue of one coil that seams to lock up when game cycles through the coils.

thanks,

mike
