Everybody wants headphones that follow the 'Hartman Curve'. If you try to recreate that curve using EQ, usually the headphone drivers get pushed beyond their abilities and distort.

Headphones that DO closely match that curve, are $$$$$.

A few weeks ago, Truthear came out with a headphone that almost perfectly natively match the curve.

The audiophile world has gone crazy over them.

Truthear's trick is to add an actual subwoofer in addition to the normal driver.

So you get slamming bass, without muddying up the mids (like a pair of Beats would)

They are only $49, so just go ahead and order on impulse:

Here you can see the large subwoofer driver through the translucent housing.

Real leather case, tons of different size tips, braided audiophile cable (detachable for replacement)

The trick to any In Ear Monitor is that the tips have to seal your ear canals. If you don't hear mega bass, your using the wrong size tips.

The black tips are memory foam, they work really good too.

How they give you all that for $50 is a Chinese mystery.

Still rocking the XDP, one 1tb sd card, and one 512gb

Got Asmodeus' XDP on my bench right now for battery transplant & headphone jack replacement.

The new batteries have 20% more capacity, so that's an additional bonus

Quoted from Haymaker:

I would order immediately if there was a wireless option

Wireless would digitize the audio, ruining it.

Bluetooth is a quarter century old, but even in version 5, it still sounds like a mp3

You'd be blown away in how much more detail good headphones extract compared to great stereo room speakers.

Without the smear of walls and ceiling, it's amazing

Listen to this on good headphones, it's mind expanding

Quoted from SLAMT1LT:

Sadly, tinnitus is developing in my right ear.. from wearing headphones most of my life, probably. Keep the volume down kiddies.

The whole idea of In Ear Monitors (IEMs) is that the outside world noise is sealed out of your ear canal.

So you don't have to crank them up.

You seal out the lawn mower

Like slamtilt says, don't blow your ears out
