Hello, just plugged in the machine for the first time. Tried reseating the display connectors, any other ideas?

Thanks for the help.
You may be right... I haven't time to take another picture, I'll get around to it sometime later this week.

Thanks!
Phil

Alright here we go... let me make a disclaimer first, I've barely had the time to shoot the pic, so I haven't spent one minute on this besides reseating the connectors.
I'm guessing swapping the two displays would be a good first step to narrow down the issue, but I thought maybe you guys would have seen something similar before.

Quoted from ChrisHibler:

IIRC, the OEM displays are not L/R swappable. Good idea though.
Since the right display is fine, and the left one appears to be outgassed, I'm going to say that power isn't the issue. I'm going to say that your left display is toast.
An option for you:

Dang. Is that what an outgassed alphanumeric looks like? I know how to tell with a DMD but I didn't think it would go in such a regular pattern. I might have some time to look into it over the weekend. I'll see if there are any test points back there or potentiometer to crank up the power...

Thanks for the tips folks.

So I have swapped both displays, and the same one still exhibits the same problem. It really is that some segments are completely off and some are completely on, and it is always the same segments.
My pinball stuff to work on queue isn't shortening much, so for now I can live with it - there aren't that many components on the board so if I get a minute at some point I might look at trying to replace them to see if that does it and short of that I'll probably spring for a replacement.

Cheers!
Phil
