When working on my , dead , Robowar and could not locate those bifurcated connectors for connecting the mpu to driver I hacked 2 jamma connectors and got me a fine interconnect cable that is tighter and works better than the original one also most of my problems were coming from A3 J6 . Even after I re-pinned the connectors I could get strange behavior by removing and reconnect the plug !
Also make sure all your finger connections on the Pcbs are clean . I "painted" all of them with solder to be sure
As for the lamp in the back box , replace with a LED one ... so no need for a starter , and Produces minimal heat !
