I think Stretch sold his LE.
Quoted from stretch2:It will be here.
Is this why you sold your LE? We all know VE will come eventually, so it's not news. But how nice of you to share this info on here after you sold your LE a few days ago. I bet you wouldn't post this if you still have it now, would you?

Well I'm sure that he shared his inside information with the seller before making the deal.
Quoted from Pimp77:Everyone deep down knows it's coming...just like LOTRVE. It's an easy sell and moneymaker.
I heard LOTRVE is next. Already on the list!
Quoted from Whysnow:LOL. Remind me, what did you 100% confirm like 3 days before WWE was announced, KISS?
This stuff is really getting lame.
It will happen this year.Stern always like to throw a swerve.Don't you know that by now ?
Quoted from RobT:Well I'm sure that he shared his inside information with the seller before making the deal.
I just found out about the Tron VE a couple days ago.I sold the LE to raise funds for personal reasons.

If true that's pretty shady...but the VE won't be the LE so, eh who cares?
Quoted from CaptainNeo:why would they need a VE? they can just crank out another run of Pros. They can make unlimited amounts. License is still active.
VE is Pro...just a Pro who's license has been renewed & in the new cabinets style w/ LEDs since Stern's done with the old cabs and incandescents.
Quoted from Pimp77:If true that's pretty shady...but the VE won't be the LE so, eh who cares?
As previously stated , I was not made aware of the Tron VE until a couple days ago.I sold the LE about a week before.
Can't get excited about this. Just shelled out my last available funds for an Iron Man VE. Got to cool my heals on purchases.
Quoted from cscmtp:the million dollar question is lighted ramps or not. (of course, there are mods for that)
There will not be any lighted ramps and there is no mod, Not if its the new system.....
If Stern makes a TronVE then
I will buy one.

I just hope, and I think they are kind of getting it, that someone at Stern says "Wow look at all these cool mods for the Tron Pro. It almost makes it an LE. We should make those mods and sell them so that a Pro owner, if they choose to someday spend that extra money, can enjoy most of the LE experience with their Pro. We could probably even offer software add-ons like Daft Punk for $50 and Pro owners would buy it".
Why can't they just do a premium? After playing the LE with its added features and Daft Punk multiball, I think it would be a better seller for Stern.
Here is where the rumor came from...
Quoted from musketd:Yep TRON VE is coming guys just a matter of when
Until it actually happens it's nothing more than speculation.
PS. No lighted ramps or other LE features, just LED's and new back box.
Make a base model and a deluxe model, then make it so I can turn my base model into that deluxe model at an added cost. It's pretty crazy they aren't exploiting software add-ons more. Get the code mature, then figure out add-ons. You want real voices instead of the redneck? Fine, that will be $50. I'd pay $50 extra all day long to have Darrel Waltrip and Dale Jarrett doing call outs on Nascar vs the redneck.
Quoted from labnip:i'm out if it doesn't come with coinmechs !!
oh wait... have an LE
never mind...
What if it was a VE Premium! That would be interesting
Quoted from RobT:Let me guess: this was Underlord's "insider" named "Guy"?!
Robbie looking for another spanking?
Wait. That sounded gay.
Go get your own insider Rob.
Quoted from ChrisHibler:If Stern makes a TronVE then

Me too, especially if it's a premium. I'm not in on the WWE pin and I already have a LOTR, so a Tron with complete code NIB would be very appealing. I think I'd have to tell my wife I won it in a raffle or something.
Quoted from thedarkknight77:There will not be any lighted ramps and there is no mod, Not if its the new system.....
Yeeeeeeeurrrrgh.
Wouldn't that be some jacked up sh...
No switch and no lamp matrix = no Eli interface. I don't think the time would be put in at this point to completely re-work it for Spike. I really hope if they do a Tron VE, it's NOT on Spike for that reason. I would love to see Eli make some more money if he's still getting a cut from Pinbits. I think they're fantastic, personally.
Quoted from Frax:Yeeeeeeeurrrrgh.

I hadn't considered this. That would hurt sales badly.

Not being able to put Eli's mod on Tron Vault would be a deal breaker in my opinion..
Quoted from Concretehardt:Not being able to put Eli's mod on Tron Vault would be a deal breaker in my opinion..
Yah they wouldn't sell too many units if that's the case. They may as well keep it in the vault then.
Not being able to have lighted ramps would be a bad deal, but i'm almost certainly a buyer if they run it.
Quoted from Lethal_Inc:Someone take a guess on when Stern will announce the next VE.
May 5, 2015
Edit: How does a date get a thumbs down??? Just childish.
Quoted from TOK:How can a 3 year old game be called a Vault Edition? Thats goofy.
Same as IM...the ONLY VE in existence.
Quoted from Trekkie1978:May 5, 2015
Edit: How does a date get a thumbs down??? Just childish.
Because you didn't say "Cinco de Mayo".

Not sure, need to ask Certain thumbs down specialists. They've both used the thumbs down, oh, I meant the 'disagree' button since the RGP days. One I can understand, as he's trying to defend his Tron LE selling point, The other? He's just being 'disagreeable.'
Me? I thumbs down VERY rarely. I prefer the direct confrontation, others like to lurk and poke.
Since neither has a sense of humor that anyone is aware of, let's see if they take anything in stride, or disagree with my disagreeing.
It's only internet jibba jabba. Stern will follow the money. This they've proven over and over. VE models will happen, and when they do, makes sense it will be on the cheaper Spike platform.
The reason IMVE was made is because of the failed home version of IM that, unlike other Stern home games, had a near identical version of the playfield as the commercial machine.
Stern had playfields remaining (probably whole machines left too) and decided a few tweaks could give them another run of IM Pro's easy.
Not the case with Tron
Definitely not the case with LOTR.
Maybe a VE happens, but with the pin titles coming out in 2015, I sincerely doubt another VE is coming soon.
If a Tron VE does come and it is on the spike system will the Eli ramp mod work or can it be adjusted to work with the new system. Would he even bother trying to Build a new ramp mod for the new system if it doesnt work with it. . Just curious.
Quoted from Nightstick:If a Tron VE does come and it is on the spike system will the Eli ramp mod work or can it be adjusted to work with the new system. Would he even bother trying to Build a new ramp mod for the new system if it doesnt work with it. . Just curious.
It would not work. At the LEAST it would need a completely different connector setup, and more likley, it would need a total re-write of the lamp status detection code since there is no "lamp matrix" to read under the Spike system...they're using a serial bus.
Quoted from blue95:Is it a hot tip from the same sources that said the next Stern was Kiss, or The Muppets, or Jaws?
Nope.
Don't ever recall 'muppets' ever being a hot tip though...
They already did 2 years ago. 200 were produced.
Disney TRON Legacy (4th VEdition) / IPD No. 6019 / 2013 / 4 Players
Manufacturer:Stern Pinball, Incorporated, of Chicago, Illinois,
USA (1999-now) [Trade Name: SternMPU:Stern S.A.M. Board SystemType:Solid State Electronic (SS) Production: 200 units (approximateSerial Number Database:View at The Internet Pinball Serial Number Database (IPSND.net)Theme:Licensed Theme - Science FictionNotable Features:This is a fourth production run of Stern's 2011 'Disney TRON Legacy' that completed in the first quarter of 2013. The most obvious difference from the previous runs is that the translite features two female characters from the movie, named Gem and Quorra. This is the so-called "Quorra/Gem translite". The cabinet art uses decals (not screened art).
This fourth run game also shipped with an additional transliteite". Previously , the CLU translite was found only on the third production run, Stern's 2012 'Disney TRON Legacy (3rd Edition)'. With the fourth run, theoperator was given a choice of translites to display in the backbox.
If a game has a CLU translite displayed in itsbackbox, the manufacturer sticker on the back of itscabinet should clarify from which production run the game was made.
On all Editions after the first one, the manufacturer provided the wiring for a shaker motor but did not provide the motor itself. Customers had to buy the shaker motor from after-factory providers.
