It's definitely substantially less effort to not have to redesign playfield and game rules... a little extra time to pull together some new video/audio assets and plug them in--even porting to a new system--wouldn't take as much effort.
This does bring up a humorous thought though... (may get rotten tomatoes over it)
...given how Spiderman was redone (with the comic book version over the movie version)...
...would Stern dare go here with LOTR-VE?
