Who knows if they ran out of direct print cabs and sent a few out with decals.
The first pins with Decals was TFLE. Stern didn't have the new leg protectors back then and that's why so many TFLE's have decal wrinkling

Not only that - I'm pretty sure TF was a different printing process & material. From AC/DC onward, the decal quality and resolution has been excellent. The metallic decals on Mustang LE & Iron Man VE are incredible.

Yes, the new decals (if they stick) are pretty awesome resolution wise for sure. Be interesting to see the routed ones for flipper button wear over the next few years...
edit----are the newer decals coated with any type of "laminate" material?

I have #410 of the combo Transformers LE and it came with the new leg protectors.
I don't know if any of the Autobot or Decepticon models came with leg protectors.

That was the rumor until Star Trek VE came out a couple of weeks ago, since then it has been dead quiet, especially since Stern only does a vault every so often......
