People expect a Tron VE with LE features for Ironman vault prices.
As someone who as owned both versions and is not biased those who are saying a moded Pro is just as good as LE are full of it. Why does everything have to be a dick measuring contest? Can't the pro and LE owners just enjoy their machines for what they are without having to justify why theirs is better. You can tell without even looking at someones collection which version they own just based on their comments.
Quoted from Utesichiban:
Nice but not worth an additional 2-3k IMO.
That is your option and you are of course entitled to it. However I feel at least you are getting some nice tangible features for the extra money compared to what Stern charges today for a Premium over the Pro and the LE over the Premium. Not sure if this list is 100% accurate however it shows some of the extras they put into the LE.
Color changing lighted ramps
Daft Punk Multiball
Silver around PF inserts (I believe extra clearcoat as well)
Drop targets instead of stand-ups
LED insert PCBs (could be viewed as negative however is still a difference)
Alternating color flashers under the spinner
Individually controlled recognizer inserts in front of the 3 target
Metal apron with clear blue windows w/ flashers
Metal PF rails
Traditional lockdown bar and receiver
Stern is not stupid and will not leave money on the table. This is coming someday and just a matter of when. Making more of the original Tron doesn't make sense since there have been multiple runs and plenty available on the used market. Yes they would still sell some to the newbNIB crowd but making one with new art, color display, ramp lights, etc wound sell a shit ton more. They did it with SM and will do it with Tron.
Yes it did. You really think Stern would have made additional runs if the demand wasn't there? They listen to their distributors and not Pinside. Who knows, maybe the license was coming to an end on titles like ST and it made sense to make more instead of re-upping the licence in the future. You think everyone in this hobby is on Pinside and is looking to buy HUO. The are so many new people in this hobby that just want to buy NIB. You think the average family with money who wants to get a machine for their kids is going to come here and look for a used machine with no warranty?
Great to see you're enjoying Pinside! Did you know Pinside is able to run thanks to donations from our visitors? Please donate to Pinside, support the site and get anext to your username to show for it! Donate to Pinside
