Agreed. I wonder how many of you calling for a Tron Vault are willing to spend premium money ($7000+) for what would basically be a pro. Lit ramps and other upgrade features would basically be the LE and don't think Stern would do that unless they charge LE money. I know Tron has it's fans but picture Tron next to a new game like Munsters in a retail shop. Tron is going to look pretty dated with photshop art, plastic ramps, red dmd, etc. I wonder how many non pinheads will choose Tron over a newer game. I imagine a lot of the pinheads that really want a Tron already have one.

Tron Vault would not command premium money. It is a very simple BOM and there would be no R&D invested. If it happens, it will be a Vault Pro at current Pro rates, which is still 1500 more than I paid for my original Tron Pro.

VEs are reruns of older games to keep the line moving and to satisfy demand of older titles. They can put an older title back on the line because they have the tooling and there's no new development needed. The most we can expect, in terms of new, on a Tron VE is a display panel decal since the later runs of IM and MET and others have added one. The only exception was Spidey since the Toby movies were old and Sony had moved on to Andrew Garfield, at that point. It was premium priced because the amount of "stuff" in the game was over what Pros get these days. If Tron VE happens, it'll be a Pro with LEDs in the new cabinet/backbox.

Why would anyone expect a Tron Pro VE to be more than Pro pricing? They only released 2 versions of the game and they ain't gonna VE the LE. If it happens, it will be a Pro. I can't see them adding LE features or redoing display effects or any of that other stuff I see discussed. Now, if mnpinball says different, I'd be inclined to believe it coming from him. LOL

Are you familiar with SMVE? They made that nicer than the original and charged a price in the premium range. Will they VE the LE? No. But, don't be shocked (if it actually gets made) if they put on some ramp lights and another mod or two and charge a price similar to their premium model.

I certainly am familiar with it. That was an exception because they had to do new art and dots. Additionally, the amount of mechs in Spidey is closer to a modern day premium. One other thing is Spidey VE didn't sell well because of the price. Everyone crapped on Stern because of that.

I'd like to see a TRON Vault but only if ... they change it to the new system, add a full color screen, and use the clips from the movie. Same goes for any value game... c'mon do the same for Ghostbusters, Game of Thrones, or even Metallica.
I love Tron and right now Disney is set to open a new Tron Roller Coasters so lets go all out here. If they do that I'm all in.
If not what it the point? If someone really wants a Tron game they can get one, how about a better version.
The new JJP Wizard of Oz runs off their latest system, why can't Stern do the same?

Not me. Give me the reliable old SAM boardset over the SPIKE system.

I keep seeing wish lists. If they vault it, that means no new features like LCD or lighted ramps. Vault is a rerun of a game, not a newly updated game. You might get metallic decals like Ironman, but you won't get LCD.

Quoted from mrclean:

Perhaps no LCD, they can upgrade the dmd to blue though & what about when they vaulted AC/DC and added the "swinging bell" to the Pro. So that was originally an exclusive feature of the Premium / LE. It would be the same thing if they added the moving recognizer.
Also Stern can simply introduce it as a premium vault and slap on a 7,699 price tag on them with lighted ramps and a few minor tweaks and they would likely fly off the line. The TRON VE won't happen until likely 2021.

They added that swinging bell to pros before Vault was ever a thing. Once they moved to LEDs and the new cabinet, the next run of ACDC pro had the bell, but was not a Vault.

You won't see lighted ramps and they won't create a premium when there never was one (even though the LE was technically labled premium). Tron pro is all they will Vault, IF they do. It will be all LED and may have new decals, possibly a new translight, but no ramp lights or extras.

Have you not seen the Spiderman Vault?

Sure have. That was done based on necessity. Couldn't use the Toby movies any longer, as Andrew Garfield was Sidey at that time and they figured, comic art was the way to go.
