Does the moving Recogniser have to be removed to get access to the disc & rubbers surrounding it on the LE?

Does the moving Recogniser have to be removed to get access to the disc & rubbers surrounding it on the LE?
Bump - anyone know the answer to the above? Can I get to the rubbers in the spinning disc area without removing the moving Recogniser?
