Quoted from labnip:What do you think? If the design was great-enough, do you think there's enough buyers?
I think there's quite a few fans of the original movie. Not sure I like the whole P3 layout (giant LCD covering the whole lower half of the playfield), but it could lend itself to some neat battle modes specific to the movie. Problem with interest is that you pretty much have to build a single machine to completion before most people can see the vision and want you to make more.
Quoted from labnip:Most historical lower-center playfields are just ink artwork & some light-up inserts.
Yes, but of the two P3 projects, it seems like the LCD takes up more space than a typical pinball. I just wish it didn't cover so much space, and it feels like the back 1/3 is compromised and cramped with short ramps. I'd be fine with the concept if it didn't overshadow everything else.
you need to figure out a way to make the ball "derezz". Like it rolls across the screen, and a pixelated version of a silverball shows up beneath it, and when it gets to the bottom of the screen the real ball drops into a hidden trough, then the digital silverball bounces off the bottom of the screen, then bounces away from the screen as a digital version of the entire playfield zooms into the screen, and you play an alternate digital version of TRON pinball. It could really extend the playfield's modes.

You MUST do this with inserts only, it would be far more impressive than doing on the screen.
