Hey guys,

My "Disc of Tron" makes some very audible noises when it is spun up fully. They might just be normal motor noises, I also have the volume on the machine kind of low. Thought I should ask though in case there is any preventive maintenance I need to do.

Also, my LOTR flippers feel SO different from Tron, almost heavier. They both feel and play fine, just surprised they are so different.

Welcome to pinside 'monsterbaldy'! Folks have discussed this before, and there is a search function, you might be able to find something there... Like this:

I can hear mine. Sometimes quite a bit more than other times, which I don't really understand. I think it's normal for the most part.

Is there a way to ban copperpot?

Why?

It's normal. They are using the same motor as a shaker so it's pretty powerful. Just turn the volume up higher to wash it out.

The motor spins at different speeds, so you might just be hearing it when it's a higher RPM.

Thats what a motor sounds like on the Grid. It's a feature.

Anyone know the RPM of the spinning disc, I will never get tired of the different paths that the ball can take as I am disc battling with Rinzler! Or another question I have always wondered, what are the top speeds for pinballs and on which table does it move the fastest, is it off the flipper or do the kick back features send it even faster? I really think it has to be from something like that spinning disc on Tron, though random sometimes it has gone STDM faster than I could even hit a flipper to react.

The motor noise is normal.

Yes, the search function is helpful, but so are friendly pinsiders who will steer you in the right direction. Calling to ban somebody because you don't like their comment is not helpful.

I TOTALLY agree!! Ban Monsterbaldy instead!

Nah, he's just joking, I know him IRL and routinely set high scores on his machines that he can't top.
