Looks great Tat. You may have to adjust the sensitivity of your sling shot switches now due to the fact that those star posts are thicker then what stern usually uses. Also if you do stay with the star posts you should get the LED star post lighting kits. Any issues with your 3bank target as I've seen a lot of others are having that issue? I wish that's all that was wrong with mine. ):
That sounds like it will be fixed in a software update. Stern is having to hire a technician to take a look at mine. Also Keep an eye on your LEDs as some have had issues with cutting out as the wires being too close together has caused issues.
Quoted from tatman9999:did you get your Tron LE yet?
Yes!
50+ plays on it so far...
Money well spent IMHO!
I have a hard time comparing this to IM.
The light show ALONE blows IM out of the water!
And that is just with the stock bulbs!
I will probably take mine in a different direction... (Like ripping the LED boards out! )
But- so far so good on yours tat!
You too coast!
Keep the updates coming.
I am just too busy playing it to mod it right now! (Other than shaker and FF speakers...)
I seem to do better pin work when it is raining anyway...
Has Cliffy finished up the protectors yet???
I'd hate to get my TRON-hole all worn out before Christmas!

This feels like a Michael Scott moment.

Awww,
I was hoping for George C. Scott!
But seriously...
There should be a quick TRON reference guide here on Pinside!
Especially for Smassa!
Here is the answer to the LED problem that Smassa brought up earlier- in case anyone has spastic LED board issues... (RGP TRON thread.)
"The connecting
wire from LED board to LED board under the playfield is picking up
interference due to how it is tied. On the boards, especially J1 to
J2 you will see a connector that has a yellow, blue and brown wire I
think. Disconnect the connectors on the led boards and unwrap the
the wires that are around the harness. Let them hang out of the way
for now. Once you get them away from the harness you will be fine.
Don't let the wires hang close to the transformer or you will have the
same issue."
He went on to say Stern will probably have a remedy soon...
Other than the Recognizer, disc rubber flying off and target bank issues- TRON is pure heaven!!!
.... Right, guys???
Come ON 10.1 code finale (In 5 years! )!!!
did you have to disassemble the ramps and the recognizer plastic to wipe down the spinning disc with 'goo-gone'? i had to, i was getting black scuff marks all over the balls, which transpired to the playfield. at 100 plays i had to pull off both ramps and the plastic recongizer toy to give that disc a good 15 minute 'rubdown'. lmao.
just wondering thanks
by the way tatman, the playfield looks great! how is that shaker on the le? i have mine sitting in the box on the can in my camper..literally waiting to put it in the machine on location. can't wait for that rumble!!
Quoted from Ballsofsteel:did you have to disassemble the ramps and the recognizer plastic to wipe down the spinning disc with 'goo-gone'?
No I cheated...
I held the spin disc test down with one hand and used my table tennis rubber cleaner on my blade sponge in the other hand! (Light pressure of course!)
It worked out fine!
People who come over to play TRON are amazed at how fast that thing moves!
I did have one bounce up and smack the glass already... Scary stuff.
Quoted from ARTMAN:What did you use to hold the figures down?
I use museum putty. You can use as much or as little as you want and it is cheap strong hold easy to remove. Not sure how it would hold up under very hot conditions but works well for me.
