So I finally bought my grail pin just about a month ago. Out of town transaction, the pin was beautiful as described except for one thing. The machine had leg marks. I just couldn't bring myself to put those plastic leg protectors on. I thought I could have it restored, but had no luck finding anyone for this job.

After contemplating for a while, I decided to give it a try myself. What could possibly go wrong learning to do silk screen touch ups on my most expensive machine having no experience..Ha

Just wanted to share and see what others have done on silk screen cabinets.

Here's the before pictures-

I spent a lot of money($150-$200+) on paint, paint pens and markers trying to find the right color and the right tips. I didn't know when you look close at the silk screening it looks like a series of dots(which makes sense). I found starting with paint as base typically white depending on area was a good start, then I used ultra fine tip paint pens(which were not consistent or good for making dots). Then I used super fine tip permanent marker(ultra fine tipped) and white paint pen to recreate the dots.

It's not perfect by any means, but considering it's my first go around I don't think it turned out to bad. I started on the back to warm up before hitting the front. I've still yet to do the right side back, that's gonna be tough. I may circle back around and hit it one more time in some areas, very time consuming-

Under normal lighting conditions you can no longer see the leg marks-

The metal plates will keep the plastic protectors (pincabs) from coming in contact with the cabinet. So you won't get any more damage and they will hide the existing damage. I did this on my TF and it worked great.
